A derecho, otherwise known as a widespread, long-lived, straight-line wind storm, is expected to traverse parts of the Midwest Wednesday night and early Thursday, according to The Weather Channel. Derechos can cause hurricane-force winds, tornadoes, torrential rains, and flash floods. This one could wreak havoc in the areas shaded in purple below. What’s important to note is that this derecho is sweeping across the corn belt. A Moderate risk for severe weather remains forecast for much of the state of Wisconsin. Damaging winds (some 75+ mph) are the primary threat this afternoon and evening. Very large hail and a few...

The last time Biden got into trouble for making the 'you ain't black' remarks... they had a distraction ready to go. Within 3 days George Floyd happened. Now he's in trouble again. The Dems know Biden is crazy. But they're willing to stick with him because they can easily divert America's attention. Now that Biden is in trouble again what will the Democrats come up with next to try and suck the air out of the news cycle?????

Tornadoes struck central Tennessee early Tuesday morning leaving at least nine people dead, multiple injured and thousands without power as high winds wreaked a trail of destruction. One of the massive 'supercells' swept through downtown Nashville, knocking out power and tearing through buildings. Nearly 44,000 were without power, according to Nashville Electric Service. At least nine people have been killed and that death toll is expected to climb as authorities survey the dangers of a landscape littered with blown-down walls and roofs, snapped power lines and huge broken trees.

While discussing the flooding in New York State, Cuomo said, “Anyone who questions extreme weather and climate change is just delusional at this point. We have seen in the state of New York what every one has seen. We see these weather patterns that we never had before. We didn’t have hurricanes. We didn’t have superstorms. We didn’t have tornadoes. This is a storm that came up just overnight, dropped about five inches of rain, and it was literally a matter of life or death for people.”

Pennsylvania has seen more tornadoes than usual in 2019, with the state already hitting the yearly average. One Pennsylvania man thinks he may know the cause of the increase: traffic circles. According to our news partners at the Trib, WNEP-TV in Scranton has a segment called "TalkBack," which allows viewers to call and leave their opinions, and then the station airs them. “We didn’t have tornadoes here until we started putting in the traffic circles. Cause, on account of — you want to know why? When people go round and round in circles, it causes disturbance in the atmosphere, and...

This has been a spring of angry weather across the U.S. as heat, flooding, and hail pummel the eastern half of the country. But along with the garden variety suffering, devastating tornadoes have also spread across the U.S. from Texas to Pennsylvania. Twisters have ripped through communities across the U.S., killing at least three in Missouri last week, injuring nearly 100 on Monday in Ohio, and upending thousands of people’s lives. On Thursday, nearly 78 million Americans still faced increased odds of tornadoes touching down, according to the Storm Prediction Center, including major metro areas like New York, Washington, D.C.,...

Progressive politicians like Al Gore, Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D.N.Y., don’t hesitate to blame any kind of severe weather – even if it is decreasing over time – on global warming. With the devastating Dayton, Ohio tornadoes fresh on our minds, it is useful to examine exactly why (modest) global warming has produced fewer – not more – of such events. The simple answer is that tornado formation requires unusually cool air. Very few thunderstorms produce tornadoes. In the hot and humid tropics, they are virtually unheard of. The reason why is that (unlike hurricanes) tornadoes...

RUSH: Just a couple things here before we go to the break. At last count, five million people without power in Ohio. Fifty-one tornadoes I saw on the Drudge Report. Nearly half of the population of Ohio is without power early today, including a large and dangerous tornado that was northwest of Dayton. The destruction pictures are devastating. They’re shocking. This is not that difficult to relate to if you’ve been through any kind of a disaster where there has been significant damage to your home or dwelling. It is unnerving. It is disruptive like nothing else is. And in...

[Truncated headline] This is the original: A Native American tribe will cover the costs of the funerals for all of the Alabama tornado victims (CNN)Often times the worst situations will bring out the best in people. That's proving true once again, this time in southeastern Alabama, where residents are still reeling from an outbreak of tornadoes that killed 23 people this week. But their loved ones won't have to worry, at least, about the costs of the funerals. A Native American tribe says it will cover the funeral and burial expenses for all the victims of Sunday's tornadoes. The Poarch...

Tornadoes are rated on a scale from EF-0 to EF-5, with 5 being the strongest with winds of over 200 mph and "incredible," damage, according to to the National Weather Service. In order to be classified as a "violent tornado," the ranking must be an EF-4 with winds between 166 and 200 mph, or an EF-5.No violent tornadoes ended up touching down in 2018, which made it the first since modern record-keeping began in 1950 that no violent twisters were reported, according to FOX23. The Washington Post noted that it was a quiet year for tornados overall

The Washington Post reports that, with just a few days left in the year, 2018 will be the first year with no violent tornadoes since records began to be kept in 1950.  This year is also vying to be a record for lowest number of fatalities from tornadoes. It has been predicted that, due to climate change, storms would become more frequent and more violent.  In the United States, this appears not to be the case – and not just for this year. This year's goose-egg may seem to fit a recent pattern. In simple terms, there have been downtrends in...

FULL TITLE: WRONG AGAIN: Obama and Gore Said Global Warming Would Cause More Severe Tornadoes – 2018 Was First EVER with NO VIOLENT TORNADOES Remember this? Back in January 2013, Barack Obama blamed climate change/global warming for “raging fires, crippling drought and more powerful storms” during his second Inaugural speech. Peace award winner Al Gore supported his comments. But Obama and Gore were wrong again. According to the NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center the total number of tornadoes during 2012 was just 936 – a ten year low. And 2018 was the first year ever with no violent tornadoes in the...
