American drivers are now enjoying gasoline prices that haven't been this low since January 2009. Data from the AAA shows that the average annual price for a gallon of gas has been below $2 a gallon for about a month now. Just within the past week, the national average gas price ticked below $1.80 for a gallon of regular gas, a drop of 20 cents just since the beginning of 2016. "I think you have probably another three to four weeks of prices in this area - I think we could drop another nickel or so," said Denton Cinquegrana, chief...

Here's your Hump day humor, watch this guy shoot his truck (probably with tannernite) to see the explosion and debris flying everywhere. Obviously, don't try this at home without safety precaution, see it fully here, enjoy.

From where else- Russia While the Russians are quickly running out of money -and still can't make a decent toaster- the sky's the limit for the Kremlin when it comes to military stuff. Somehow tho there never seems to be much budget left for styling- instead, they appear to have let their video-game obsessed kids design the thing (while the dog helped). Yet the ZIL (maker of trucks and Soviet limos) KAT is itself a microcosm of Putin's Russia... overbearing/hyper-macho, in-your-face, brutish, unpolished... not a lot of it makes sense to outsiders, yet they absolutely do not care what you think...

I'm in the market for a compact pick-up truck. The old Ford Ranger would have been perfect, but Ford's motto in that regard is: Shut up and by the F-150. Is there anything out there that approaches the Ranger? Thanks for any advice.

I stopped by the Chevrolet Dealership yesterday for a look at the new Silverado 1500 pickup. Just for fun, I took it out for a test drive. I wanted to sense that new "feel" before they become extinct. The salesman (a black man wearing an Obama "change" lapel pin) sat in the passenger seat describing the truck and all its "wonderful" options. The seats were of particular interest. He explained that the seats directed warm air to your bottom in the winter and directed cool air to your bottom in the summer heat. Feeling like messing with him, I mentioned...

U.S. Special Forces will soon be riding into battle in a race-bred truck. The Polaris DAGOR is a compact military machine that uses a trophy truck-style suspension for extreme off-road capability and was developed in partnership with Roush Industries of NASCAR fame. The purpose-built military machine is about the size of a four-door Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, but can fit up to nine warfighters onboard: four in the cabin, four in the bed, and a roof gunner positioned in a sling seat suspended from the roll cage. The 4,500-pound vehicle is powered by a diesel engine of unspecified origin, has a...

Kit, who is now nine-weeks-old, was only discovered when his brother fell out onto the pavement in...

Readers, let’s take a moment to salute a true workhorse. In the world of war machines, the expensive and high-tech items get all the attention and budget—drones, anti-ship ballistic missiles, cyber warfare, and the like. But, on the battlefields of the twenty-first century, a humble and under-rated weapon has quietly showed up these expensive attention-hogs: the pickup truck. Today, primarily irregular, infantry-centric forces fight almost every conflict in the world. Pickup trucks are their mainstays. In Afghanistan, Sudan, Somalia, Iraq, Mexico, Syria, Libya, Mali and the Central African Republic, irregulars reach the battlefield more often than not in the cabs...

A working truck has been carved out of more than 11,000lb of ice as a Canadian battery company prepared the ultimate test for their product. A team of ice sculptors from Ontario created the truck, complete with license plates and pine tree-shaped air freshner, around the frame of a regular chassis. They then drove it for about a mile, at 12mph, in a feat that those involved in the project hope will make it to the Guinness Book of World Records.

ZURICH, Ont. - Every Canadian knows the pain of getting into an ice-cold vehicle in the winter. But a vehicle made of ice? Only in Canada. Hensall, Ont.-based Iceculture was called in to help craft a pickup truck made mostly of ice for a commercial. Proving the 6,800-kg vehicle wasn’t all show and no go, it made a four-kilometre drive in Huron County earlier in December. Building a drivable pickup out of mostly ice wasn’t easy. Workers from Bronson Line Automotive of Zurich stripped the cab and body from a 2005 GMC Silverado and fitted it with a steel frame...
