It’s as if people here have not turned on the television to hear pundits drone on and on about how badly Trump is losing in Pennsylvania.

Looks like Joe Scarborough might be getting bored with attacking Donald Trump. So now he’s turning on the people who put Trump into office. [snip] Joe then referenced a statement made by Mika Brzezinksi prior to the election in which she warned Americans against voting for Trump. He then said: "What’s chilling is that enough Americans did want that . . . We keep talking about Trump. I’m sorry, we’re going to have to take a much longer look, after all this comes to an end, at what led so many Americans to support a man so clearly—professionals in the...

CNN hosted a panel this morning of Trump voters describing what CNN described as “life after their vote.” Three of the voters described very nasty reactions they’ve received from liberals: A woman spoke of receiving “a lot of hatred from people I loved and respected,” including being asked if she was “crazy” and wondering “how could you do this to us?” A female impersonator recounted being immediately blackballed from his work when he came out as a Trump supporter, and having received death threats. He noted the irony of coming from a community that prides itself on inclusiveness. A man...
  • Glenn Beck says he doesn’t care if he alienates Trump voters

Since he left Fox News in 2011, Glenn Beck has been mending old wounds, apologizing for some of the things he said on Fox and trying to find common ground with liberal media personalities like Samantha Bee. But after repeatedly condemning candidate-and-then-President Donald Trump, Beck isn’t extending any olive branches. He has a simple answer for Trump supporters who have stopped watching his videos or listening to him on the radio. “I say this with all humility: I don’t care,” Beck said on the latest Recode Media with Peter Kafka, recorded live at South by Southwest. “Right is right, wrong...
  • Thousands of voters, celebrities, register to wrong party

A survey has found that tens of thousands of voters, including Demi Moore and other celebrities, have mistakenly registered as members of a conservative minor political party in California in a mix-up over its name, a newspaper reported Sunday. The Los Angeles Times said that a telephone survey of 500 members of the American Independent Party found nearly 3 of 4 people did not realize they had enrolled in a political party that opposes abortion rights and same sex marriage and calls for building a fence along the U.S. border. The newspaper said voters were confused by the use of...
  • How the G.O.P. Elite Lost Its Voters to Donald Trump

As the Republican Party collapses on itself, conservative leaders struggling to explain Mr. Trump’s appeal have largely seized on his unique qualities as a candidate: his larger-than-life persona, his ability to dominate the airwaves, his tough-sounding if unrealistic policy proposals. Others ascribe Mr. Trump’s rise to the xenophobia and racism of Americans angry over their declining power. But the story is also one of a party elite that abandoned its most faithful voters, blue-collar white Americans, who faced economic pain and uncertainty over the past decade as the party’s donors, lawmakers and lobbyists prospered. From mobile home parks in Florida...
  • Trump Voters Are Awakening America from Its Post-Racial Dream (Surprise! We're racists!)

Let us now do something sullying. Let us now praise Donald Trump. It is not a specific action or statement that earns him his gold star. But he has nonetheless given America something it needs. Oddly from a man so uninformed and inarticulate, that something is knowledge. He is teaching white people something important, for many of us have been locked in shameful ignorance of our countrymen. Much of America convinced itself that there were no racists left--that the silencing of overt bigotry by social and legal censure (think of Paula Deen, Donald Sterling, or Don Imus) meant the problem...

Three people were stabbed, one with a flagpole, and 12 people were arrested during a brawl on Saturday morning between self-described Ku Klux Klan members and counter-protesters at an Anaheim park, police said. Initially arrested were five Klan members – four men and a woman – and seven counter-protesters – five men, a male juvenile and a woman. Seven people were booked in the Anaheim jail on assault or abuse charges. Police are seeking one additional suspect who can be seen in a video of the altercation punching a Klansman.
  • Overwhelming majority of Trump's online following is ineligible to vote

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump may be dominating social media, but a new study has revealed that a vast percentage of his online following is legally incapable of voting. According to data collected by the social analytics company, Macromeasures, just 39.4 percent of the real estate mogul's Twitter followers are members of the voting-eligible population, as first reported by Forbes. The company analyzed a handful of GOP hopefuls, including Jeb Bush, Mike Huckabee, Ben Carson, Ted Cruz, Scott Walker and Carly Fiorina. Among those Republican candidates, Trump carried the largest percentage of disenfranchised followers. In comparison, 95.7 percent of Fiorina's...
