WASHINGTON (AP) — Hillary Clinton on Thursday won the endorsement of the AFL-CIO, the nation's largest labor federation, giving her a powerful voter turnout engine against Donald Trump. The Republican businessman swiftly accused labor leaders of selling out its membership to a candidate he said was aligned with Wall Street.

The UAW today endorsed Hillary Clinton for president, citing her support for UAW members, her lifelong commitment to the job security of American families, and her ability to unify and win in November. “Hillary Clinton understands our issues on trade, understands the complexities of multinational economies and supports American workers, their families and communities,” said UAW President Dennis Williams. It’s no shocker that Hillary Clinton isn’t popular in West Virginia. In fact, no one from national Democratic circles, like President Obama, Nancy Pelosi etc., is popular here. Obama didn’t win a single county in the Mountain State in 2012, and the last time West Virginia went Democratic was 1996. Clinton’s remarks that she was going to put coal miners out of business did not sit well with the residents of Logan County, where Democrats outnumber Republicans. In fact, CNN was hard pressed to find really any Democrat who supported Clinton—they’re all voting for Trump.
