Illinois today became the last state in the country to legalize the concealed carry of guns after both the House and Senate rejected Gov. Pat Quinn’s attempt to rewrite the compromise bill. RALEIGH, N.C. - The gas-drilling process known as "fracking" will be authorized in North Carolina now that the General Assembly has overridden Gov. Beverly Perdue's veto of a bill that sets rules and regulations for the form of shale gas production.

Debate got quite heated this morning. Democratic state Sen. Russ Decker accused Senate Minority Leader Jon Erpenbach of blackmailing him into voting to sustain the veto.
