Four families whose children were injured during a mass shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, are suing the estate of the gunman responsible for more than $100 million. The families filed the lawsuit in the 38th Judicial District Court in Uvalde, seeking compensation for physical and emotional damages stemming from the shooting, according to the complaint. The lawsuit seeks compensation in excess of $100 million from the estate of Salvador Ramos, whom law enforcement officials shot and killed after he opened fire inside Robb Elementary School on May 24, killing 19 children and two adults.
  • Twitter abuse victims fear Musk’s plans, but may not quit

Perhaps no group of people is more alarmed about Elon Musk’s plan to make Twitter a free speech free-for-all than those most likely to be targeted for harassment: women, racial minorities and other marginalized groups. They fear that a more hands-off approach to policing the platform will embolden purveyors of hate speech, bullying and disinformation to ratchet up their bad behavior — a possibility Musk has done little to dispel. Yet even those who have faced extreme harassment on Twitter say they are unlikely to quit the platform. Despite the negative psychological toll, they still place a high value on...
  • Legislation Would Ensure Some Criminals Serve 100% Of Their Sentence

There is legislation that is making its way through the state legislature called the Truth In Sentencing Bill that would expand the list of offenses that would mandate an inmate serve 100% of their sentence. I SUPPORT THIS BILL and let me tell you why. Right now, victims are lied to everyday in criminal courtrooms across Tennessee when they are told their attacker will serve 100% of their prison sentence. How do I know? THIS HAPPENED TO ME. In 2009, my husband Ben was brutally murdered in front of me. Ben was shot seven times inside a busy Nashville restaurant...
  • Glaude: If Rittenhouse Was Black and Killed White Protesters, They Would Be Called Victims

Wednesday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Princeton University professor and network contributor Eddie Glaude, Jr. said that the judge who decided the deceased should not be called victims during the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse shows the criminal justice system has bias. Co-host Mika Brzezinski said, “The judge in the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse, the teenager who shot and killed two protesters last year in Kenosha, Wisconsin, during a protest against police brutality has ruled prosecutors cannot refer to the people he killed as victims. But the defense is allowed to call them arsonists or looters, or rioters. While laying the ground...

Another of John Wayne Gacy’s victims has finally been identified more than 40 years after dying at the hands of the twisted killer. Francis Wayne Alexander, of North Carolina, was identified through dental and DNA records, law enforcement announced Monday. Alexander’s body was one of 26 cops discovered in Gacy’s crawl space in December 1978. He was killed sometime between early 1976 and 1977, when he would have been just 21 or 22 years old, according to Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart. He was one of six victims that had still not been identified over more than 40 years later.

More than 660,000 white flags have been displayed in a solemn tribute across a vast expanse on the National Mall in Washington, DC — each representing a life lost to the coronavirus pandemic in a heart-rending exhibit called “In America: Remember.” The 20-acre installation — which was unveiled Friday near the Washington Monument — is the second chilling exhibit that artist Suzanne Brennan Firstenberg said is based on a project trying to capture the “human dignity” behind the staggering death toll. As of Friday, 670,034 deaths — one of every 500 Americans — have been recorded in the US and...
  • Gunshot Victims Up 90% In Democrat-Run Minneapolis

The far-left Star-Tribune reports the number of gunshot victims in Democrat-run Minneapolis is up 90 percent over last year. That is not a typo. Ninety percent. Ninety, as in nine-oh. My favorite part of the Star-Tribune report comes in the form of just two words: “solutions evasive.” Oh, yeah, this is a really tough nut to crack. Let’s see if we can puzzle this brain-twister out… ELITE JOURNALIST: Let’s see, let’s see… Okay, so this year, shooting victims are up 90 percent over last year. Which means that last year there were 90 percent fewer shooting victims. *taps chin with...

The bodies of hundreds of New Yorkers are still sitting in a refrigerated morgue on the Brooklyn waterfront more than a year after the COVID-19 pandemic hit the Big Apple. The remains of about 750 people are in long-term storage in the specially designed disaster morgue that opened in April, a medical official told a City Council committee meeting on Wednesday.

Lately, when it comes to racism, whites are America’s new blacks, circa 1900. Cut, a Seattle-based video-maker, is surfing that trend, with a video asking blacks “So what exactly are white people superior at?” The answers aren’t cute or funny – they’re the 2020 equivalent of accusing blacks of eating watermelons and “shufflin’.” Cut isn’t some fringe company. It boasts 10.1 million YouTube subscribers. Whether funny or serious, its videos are meant to be hip in a leftist way. Here are some recent titles: Sex Workers & Their Parents Play Truth or Drink Queer Parents & Their Queer Kids Play...

On National Day for the Victims of Communism, we solemnly remember the more than 100 million lives claimed by communism in the 20th century. We commit ourselves to stopping the spread of this oppressive ideology that, without fail, leaves in its wake misery, destruction, and death. As proud Americans who cherish the blessings of freedom and democracy, we promise to support the more than one billion people currently captive within communist regimes and denied their unalienable rights to life and liberty. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the decisive Polish victory against Vladimir Lenin’s Bolsheviks in the Battle of...

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – Governor Gavin Newsom is slammed as a local and state effort is announced to fight the surge in violent crime in Fresno. There was no mistaking the message of Fresno County District Attorney Lisa Smittcamp, “The blood of the children being shot by out-of-control gang members in our city is on your hands, and the hands of every person who does not make public safety a priority.” The DA – calling out Gov. Gavin Newsom for using the pandemic to open cell doors and release violent offenders from prison, on this, the same day that San...

US President Donald Trump announced Monday that Sudan would be removed from the US list of State Sponsors of Terrorism in exchange for paying compensation to families of American terror victims. "GREAT news! New government of Sudan, which is making great progress, agreed to pay $335 MILLION to U.S. terror victims and families. Once deposited, I will lift Sudan from the State Sponsors of Terrorism list. At long last, JUSTICE for the American people and BIG step for Sudan!" Trump wrote on Twitter. The Sudanese government has sought to be de-listed as a state sponsor of terror since former President...

Who Should Pay? Who Should Get? As we all know, talk of reparations for injustice is everywhere. But here’s a headline, appearing in the British Spectator magazine, that hit home to Virgil, old Roman that he is: “Italy owes Wales reparations for the wrongs of the Roman Empire.” The author, one Lloyd Evans—an impeccable Welsh name, that—declared: Let me add my voice to the clamour on behalf of this island’s indigenous Celtic people. My family are from Llanelli in Carmarthenshire and I believe that my compatriots have an excellent case to make against the Roman Empire. Yes, Evans said he...

Two Facebook employees also claimed that the company has been coordinating with Twitter and other social media platforms. Facebook is reportedly preparing to follow in the footsteps of Twitter and getting ready to purge QAnon content from its platform. Followers of QAnon generally support President Trump and believe that an anonymous user account named “Q” shares information online about the plans of a high-level government insider or group of insiders who are working to take down the Deep State (a group inside the government that operates independently of elected officials to promote its own interests). The New York Times reports...

No visitors allowed - even in death. Jeffrey Epstein’s estate is fighting a legal effort by one of his alleged victims to send a video crew to the perv’s Upper East Side mansion and island retreat. The victim, identified in papers only as Priscilla Doe, wants to film the areas where she says she was abused and show a jury, through video footage, that she could not easily escape the multimillionaire sex offender. “The grandeur and opulence of the Epstein properties alone demonstrate the power disparity between Epstein and Doe and thus are directly relevant to critical issues to be...

Albany, NY – Under New York’s " justice reforms," criminals must be provided with the names and contact information of victims and witnesses involved in the case against them. Effective January 1, 2020, prosecutors will have just 15 days from the time of arraignment to hand over all evidence pertaining to a case – including victim and witness information, WSTM reported. Cases can be dismissed if prosecutors fail to meat the deadline, Albany County District Attorney David Soares told the news outlet. “’By the way, I have to provide your cell phone number to his lawyer in a few weeks,’”...

With lawsuits piling up against Jeffrey Epstein’s estate, his lawyers asked a judge Wednesday to hasten approval of a victim-compensation fund, according to new court papers. The program was proposed last month, in order to facilitate settling claims with victims who say they were sexually abused by the dead pedophile, and the estate’s lawyers asked for an “expedited approval” at the time. The hope was to have the program up and accepting claims within 90 days, the lawyers said at the time. Wednesday, the lawyers gave the judge another nudge, asking that their Nov. 14 motion be ruled on right...

READING, Pa. — Pennsylvania overhauled its child sexual abuse laws Tuesday more than a year after a grand jury report showed the cover-up of hundreds of cases of abuse in most of Pennsylvania’s Roman Catholic dioceses over the last seven decades. The central bill signed by Gov. Tom Wolf gives future victims of child sex abuse more time to file lawsuits and to end time limits for police to file criminal charges. The grand jury report spurred several states to change their laws and other states to begin similar investigations.

Three women and two men are dead in a shooting in a condominium building on Chicago’s Northwest Side by a neighbor who was known to have “anger management issues,” police said. A woman who had been in critical condition after a gunman opened fire in two units of a Dunning condo building died Sunday from her injuries, bringing the death toll to five from the Saturday night shooting rampage, police said. Authorities said the man left his condo in the 6700 block of West Irving Park Road in the Dunning neighborhood, went to a neighbor’s home in the same building...
