Did Ed Schultz really think he could get away with this? On his MSNBC show this evening, he condemned David Feherty and Mark Davis for, respectively, telling and repeating a joke fantasizing about the death of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. But Schultz opened the same show by saying that he is “so glad that Wanda Sykes took it to Rush Limbaugh” in her comedy routine at the White House correpondents dinner. You know, a routine that included . . . a joke fantasizing about the death of Rush Limbaugh. To make matters worse, in the clip he played of...

WASHINGTON (May 11) -- The White House is keeping its distance from an entertainer's joke comparing commentator Rush Limbaugh to a terrorist. Presidential spokesman Robert Gibbs on Monday was asked for President Barack Obama's reaction to the joke by comic actress Wanda Sykes at Saturday's White House Correspondents' Association dinner. Obama took part in the event.

Oh, boy, Wanda Sykes is in trouble. That's what you get when you make fun of Rush Limbaugh. But while conservatives were screaming Monday, let's face it: Sykes said something mean but also funny about the right-leaning Limbaugh at the White House Correspondents Association dinner Saturday night. Boy, Rush Limbaugh said he hopes this administration fails – so you said you hope America fails ....To me, that's treason. He's not saying anything differently than what Osama bin Laden is saying. You know, you might want to look into this, sir, 'cause I think maybe Rush Limbaugh was the 20th hijacker,...

Barack Obama greeted the White House Press Corespondents by saying, "My name is Barack Obama. Most of you covered me. All of you voted for me." I don't know how funny that was, but it certainly had the virtue of being true. The media is so completely biased today, and has turned into such a pro-liberal, pro-Obama propaganda operation, that it is positively unreal. But it was Wanda Sykes who expressed the unspoken zeitgeist of the mainstream media. Youtube linkSykes said: Rush Limbaugh, one of your big critics, boy, Rush Limbaugh said he hopes this administration fails. So, you're saying...

Let’s use taxpayer money to have a comedy roast of the previous administration, and against major voices of opposition, while they’re not present. That’s classy.

Gibbs doing what he does best; passing the buck and rambling in a "non-answer". What's the deal, Gibbs? It was an inappropriate joke on several levels! Condemn it and move on!

Gibbs on Sykes: 9/11 is not 'comedy' By: Alexander Burns May 11, 2009 02:01 PM EST In his daily briefing Monday, Robert Gibbs distanced the president from comedian Wanda Sykes’ joke comparing Rush Limbaugh to a 9/11 hijacker at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner. "I don't know how the guests get booked,” Gibbs said, adding that he hadn’t “talked specifically” with Obama about Sykes’ crack. “I think there are a lot of topics that are better left for serious reflection rather than comedy. I think there's no doubt 9/11 is part of that,” Gibbs continued.

His response to the Wanda Sykes that is…. It’s just a tease at this point! Now we have not confirmed this (but we’re not pretending to be journalists). Here’s what we know so far. After Wanda Sykes made some rather nasty comments (attempted Jokes) about Rush Limbaugh that President Obama seemed to enjoy at the White House Correspondent Dinner…. Rush has responded as only RushLimbaugh can. After Wanda Sykes went off about: September 11th Hijacking Drug Abuse Kidney Failure Waterboarding Rush responds during his Monday Rush Limbaugh Radio Show in a “teasing” sort of way. This is apparently all his...

You may remember the evening of Sept. 29, 2001. On that evening, Rudy Giuliani appeared on Saturday Night Live. It was 18 days after the September 11 attacks. This appearance of the mayor of New York — who had spent almost three weeks comforting a shaken nation, mourning with families of the murdered, and leading — was widely considered a signal: We could laugh again. We needed to laugh. Heaven knows, Giuliani must have needed it as much as anyone. Laughter can be a beautiful thing, a great gift in difficult times. A way to reach those who might not...

....And naturally the wingnuts over at the bastion of intelligentsia that is Free Republic had lots to say, this coming from "Las Vegas Ron"... The good news is that stuff like this takes its toll, and not on the objects of attack. I don't know if Obama realizes it, but he is generating racial tension. After reading how his pick to lead the US Forest Service had no previous USFS background, a fellow commented, "Why do I expect he's black?" I thought it was in poor taste, but then, sure enough - the pick is a black man known for...

With the rise of Jon Stewart as the premier “Journalist” from which most Democrats get their news it’s not at all surprising that the annual White House Correspondents' Association black-tie dinner would be dominated by Hollywood A-listers, film and TV stars only to be mixed up with a smattering of journalist according to Rich Schapiro. (see story)

By now you have probably read about Wanda Sykes’ comments at the Correspondents Dinner. It is the first time in recorded history a lesbian has stood before America’s media elite and performed oral favors on a man — and not just any man. She did so to the President of the United States. It was a Lewinsky moment without the cigar and stained dress. Never mind that the American media elite would never dream of inviting anyone to speak at the Correspondents Dinner who supported a Republican. But the fawning hagiography to Obama continues. And it does so with some...

For eight years decent Americans smarted at continuing references by liberals to the assassination of President Bush and at books and movies glorifying his death. I guess this is what you can expect from people who want to kill babies who survive abortions. Not funny: Barack Obama laughs at Wanda Sykes "joke" about wanting Rush Limbaugh dead

[Title Condensed For FreeRepublic] I could only stomach to watch the pregame of the White House Correspondent's Dinner on C-SPAN, starring President Obama, as the press corps, hard-pressing credibility as well as credulity, stomped down the Brown Carpet (not Red Carpet) like something you might see at the Chicago Stockyards. The in-the-tank journalists from the most famous of near bankrupt newspapers were caked-up with makeup so much one might think they were witnessing a transvestite competition. And, the Hollywood types, who were not aware that the dinner was for faux reporters looked equally cheap. Noisy, hoggish, devilish, unnatural was the...

Wanda Sykes at the correspondents dinner taking aim at Republicans yet forget Obama's personal drug use during his younger days. This perfomance was a far cry from Steve Bridges doing President Bush..

Today, on ABC's This Week program with George Stephanopoulos, the panel praised the president's performance at the White House Correspondence dinner on Saturday. However, Sam Donaldson criticized a speech delivered by comedienne Wanda Sykes, saying she had crossed the line when she stated: "I think Rush Limbaugh was the 20th hijacker on 9/11"; "I hope his kidneys fail" and that he "needs a waterboarding". [VIDEO] From ABC's This Week Program: Donaldson: What I liked about [Obama's speech] was that all the zingers.... were in the Gridiron tradition. They singed, but didn't burn. They weren't mean. [However], from what I saw...

What was Wanda Sykes thinking? Perhaps more to the point, what was President Barack Obama thinking when he laughed and smiled as the comedienne wished Rush Limbaugh dead? Although the Left is reporting her White House Correspondents' Dinner speech as "taking shots" at Limbaugh and mocking everyone, that's a gross misrepresentation of what turned into a hateful and disgusting diatribe. She then concluded: "Rush Limbaugh, I hope the country fails, I hope his kidneys fail, how about that? He needs a good waterboarding, that's what he needs." Obama seemed to think this bit was pretty hilarious, grinning and chuckling and...

In a distasteful string of “jokes” (if you consider this funny), President Obama is seen laughing it up at the White House Correspondents Dinner. Wanda Sykes is delivering the punch lines. Jokes about Drugs, Kidney Failure, and water boarding…. Is this the best they have? Wow…. The video says it all:
