An older couple walking on Sawyer Avenue in the Little Village neighborhood slowed as they approached the red police tape, and their eyes met those of two young officers standing inside the crime scene. "Pasale, pasale," the officers said to the couple. "Pass." They ducked under the tape and stayed on the sidewalk, away from a cluster of shell casings and shattered glass. A 21-year-old man had been gunned down there. He was the 32nd person shot -- and the sixth killed -- over the weekend. In all, 10 were shot between Sunday afternoon and early Monday morning, nine more...

In Hollywood, there's no better magnet for stargazing than a movie premiere. So on a Sunday afternoon in late June, the summer sun couldn't keep thousands of fans from lining Hollywood Boulevard, hoping to spot a star. This was the "Terminator Genisys" premiere, and only one star mattered: Arnold Schwarzenegger. The former governor of California shook hands, signed autographs and posed for selfies. It's the kind of personal attention Fred and Kathy Santos wish they could get from Schwarzenegger, who they say stole justice from their dead son.

Just days after announcing her second pregnancy out of wedlock, mama bear Bristol Palin was back on the defensive, addressing the wave of critics who have called the former abstinence advocate a hypocrite in a blistering blog post. “I have never been paid as an ‘abstinence spokesperson,'” she said, although RadarOnline.com has learned she earned more than $300,000 spreading that very message. ...

[...] “None of us are perfect,†she continued, before explaining that the baby had been planned with her former fiance before the relationship ended: I made a mistake, but it’s not the mistake all these giddy a$$holes have loved to assume. This pregnancy was actually planned. Everyone knows I wanted more kids, to have a bigger family. Believing I was...

Rocker Courtney Love was left terrified when she was caught up in angry demonstrations in France on Thursday as protesters attacked her car during a drive into Paris. Love took to Twitter.com to explain that the car she was traveling in was ambushed as cab drivers blocked roads leading to and from the city's airports in a stand against taxi app Uber. Love claimed the driver was held hostage and the car was beaten with metal bats before they escaped by jumping on motorcycles, while they were also pelted with rocks by protesters and ignored by police. She used the...

Zoe Saldana‘s hunky husband Marco Perego took her last name after they married. “I tried to talk him out of it,” she said in the July issue of InStyle. “I told him, ‘If you use my name, you’re going to be emasculated by your community of artists, by your Latin community of men, by the world.” She continued, “But Marco looks up at me and says [adding an Italian accent], ‘Ah, Zoe, I don’t give a sheet.'”

Thad Cochran's camp batted down rumors last year of a romance between the senator and longtime aide Kay Webber, the New York Times reports, amid criticism that Webber had joined Cochran on 28 taxpayer-funded trips to 45 countries costing more than $150,000. Now, in a one-sentence statement, his office confirms that Cochran, 77, put a ring on it on Saturday during a private family ceremony in Gulfport, Miss., the Clarion-Ledger reports. Cochran's wife of 50 years—photographed by an anti-Cochran blogger in a nursing home last year—died in December at 73 after suffering from dementia, the Washington Post reports. A Cochran...

WACO — Richie was the first to die, then Diesel, then Dog. Whatever else they were in life, the men with the biker nicknames were Cossacks, loud and proud and riders in a Texas motorcycle gang. And that’s what got them killed, shot to death in a brawl with a rival gang in the parking lot of a Texas “breastaurant” that advertised hot waitresses and cold beer. “I saw the first three of our guys fall, and we started running,” said their brother-in-arms, another Cossack, who said he was there a week ago when the shooting started at the Twin...

Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, the populist Democrat and foe of big banks, has not listed a $1.3 million credit line against her home with Bank of America on annual financial disclosure documents because of a loophole in federal law, according to a new report. The Boston Herald reported Wednesday that Warren, who is required to disclose financial assets and liabilities, avoided listing it in 2014 because it’s a line of credit — not a mortgage — and the Democrat doesn’t actually owe enough money yet. Here’s how the Democrat’s office explained the situation to the Boston Herald: “An aide for...

Has MSNBC finally had enough of leaning forward into a full-tilt decline in ratings? Despite some suggestions that the cable channel’s carriage fees immunizes it from the ratings issue, it’s apparently not enough for the new president of NBC News. Poor ratings may spell the end of three shows, two of which appear in the channel’s ailing prime-time lineup, according to Mediaite’s Andrew Kirell: Mediaite has learned that Lack is now beginning to take an active role in the herculean task of trying to right that left-leaning ship: Specifically, Lack is now often attending MSNBC chief Phil Griffin‘s 11:30...

VIENNA (AP) — Members of a nationalistic Russian bikers club were greeted by cheering supporters as they laid a wreath Saturday at a monument to the Soviet soldiers who liberated Vienna from the Nazis. The pro-Kremlin Night Wolves are commemorating the Russian and Allied defeat of Nazi Germany 70 years ago in World War II with a ride from Moscow that is meant to end in Berlin May 9. Some EU officials have expressed criticism of their plans and Poland denied them entry, reflecting strains between Warsaw and Moscow over Russia's role in the Ukraine conflict. In contrast, their reception...

The chants started early and lasted well into the night on Wednesday. The Perrin Beitel location is the same site as many other recent protests, including the high-profile officer-involved shooting of 23-year-old Marquise Jones. "We are one of the largest cities in the country and every other city is saying something. We can't go unheard," said protestor Marcus McNeil. "We have to let people know where we are." Protesters have watched how peaceful rallies can quickly turn violent, with buildings being burned and stores looted. "It was a long time coming. It was a powder keg that people kept putting...
