On March 21, 2011, Obama cited the WPR which requires him to notify Congresa 48 hours before beginning military operations. At UPI.com there is a 3/21/2011 news article entitled "Obama Sends War Powers Notification." In the article, Obama notified Congress of his decision to deploy U.S. forces against Gadhfi. Obama said that the strikes against Libya's air defense systems and military airfields to establish no-fly zones were authorized under U.N. security Resolution 1973. Everyone should take the time to listen to this from Wisconsin Public Radio. LS does a great job explaining historical context as to why we will win the War on Terror. The liberal callers to the program would have none of it. Larry sent each of them into a spiral with well-reasoned, knowledgeable responses. Well worth the 50 minutes of listening time.
