Top 10 TV Entertainers of all Time
In light of Johnny's recent passing, I started thinking of how big an entertainer he truly was. There have been few TV people that even approach his league of "big time", however I have managed to compile what I think are the greatest 10 TV Entertainers of all time. Keep in mind this is not a list of MY favorite entertainers of all time, but an objective view.
This is no mathematical formula, but I did consider their lasting value, longevity on the air (including re-runs), and just a general feeling for them.
Without furhter "adue" here they are....
10. Regis Philbin
9. Michael Jordan
8. Bob Barker
7. Andy Griffith
6. Oprah
5. Lucille Ball
4. Jerry Seinfield
3. David Letterman
2. JohnnyCarson
1. Bob Hope
There ya have it.... I think I'm right, but did I miss anybody?

He was a tremendous TV entertainer, tons of game ending shots, incredible basketball performances, etc.
To: Rightliner.com
He was an entertaining athlete on television. That does not make him a television entertainer.

All time? Let's try that again:
10 - Steve Allen
9 - David Letterman
8 - Jack Webb
7 - Lucille Ball
6 - Andy Griffith
5 - Bill Cosby
4 - Dick Van Dyke
3 - Bob Hope
2 - Jackie Gleason
1 - Johnny Carson
We can argue about the order, but counting "all time," this is a more representative list than yours (with all due respect)...

Don't leave out the classic actors. James Cagney, Humphrey Bogart, Rita Hayworth, Gene Kelly, Spencer Tracy, Ava Gardner, Katherine Hepburn. From the "modern era", I'd go with Paul Newman, Elizabeth Taylor, Steve McQueen, Meryl Streep, Dustin Hoffman, and James Earl Jones. All great performers of some depth and ability.

Nonsense.
Frank Sinatra, The Beatles, and John Wayne all affected the entertainment landscape far more than many names on that list.
