Socialized medicine on the march in Colorado
Cherry Creek News ^ | 8/29/06

This article really shows why activists in Colorado must get behind Bob Beauprez. The RAT nominee for governor, Bill Ritter is pushing a plan to subsidize health insurance for some 770,000 Coloradans, putting them on the state health insurance plan.

If you care about conservative principles, hit Beauprez's website and send him a donation, especially if you are outside of Colorado.

You got that right. Bob is trailing a bit in the polls but I believe as soon as his message gets out it will resonate with Coloradans. Working on the campaign and talking to everyday people in the state the impression I get is that they want good conservative leadership that will maintain the values of the people of Colorado. But Bob has it tough. The Denver Post is daily out to get him and make ol' Bill Ritter look like diamonds. So Bob does need help.

How can we really rally folks for Beauprez? The stuff in the Post (and even the rocky mtn news) trashing Rowlands, literally putting words in her mouth, was disgusting, stomach turning.

This is one of the few governor's races anywhere in the country where conservative principles are being put to test- and an outspoken conservative is being smeared by the MSM. The word simply must get out around the country.

Better yet, maybe they ought to send pictures of people in the hallways of Canadian hospitals waiting for a room.

Give your time and money to Beauprez, to start. Yard signs and bumper stickers are available now. Invite friends to learn about Bob at bobbeauprez.com. Those are things that Colordans can do individually.

"Conservative principles are being put to the test"

Well, not exactly. Ritter is trying to pull a Salazar by running as a conservative Rat. The Coors campaign did a terrible job at unveiling Salazar's liberalism. I'm afraid with the Post's cover Beauprez is having the same problems. Nevertheless, don't worry too much until after labor day. Then the ads will get on tv and you'll see more debate in the press. This is still, in my opinion, Beauprez's race to lose. The key may very well be the civil union (referendum I) battle. If it loses then Beauprez wins because of the heavy, heavy socon turnout. He needs to stay on message about taxes and jobs while hitting the folks in the Springs hard. That may actually win Scott Tipton the race in CD 3 against John Salazar with the conservative W. Slope people. This year in Colorado will break one way or the other. It will not be a total wash for the Pubs but it should be for the Rats.

Beauprez needs to stand with Owens, McInnis, Campbell, John Elway...repeatedly.

There should be several public events per week to go over the heads of the Post, etc.

Coors ran a terrible race. He could have and should have won. Just another bad campaign.
