Fears of a new ice age not seen since the 1970s are arising in the aftermath of the "Climategate" scandal that has cast doubt on the legitimacy of scientific research forming the basis for the theory that mankind is causing an ultimately catastrophic rise in temperatures worldwide. Accuweather meteorologist Joe Bastardi has produced a video suggesting the current frigid conditions in North America, Europe and Asia are very similar to the weather patterns in the 1970s that produced fears a new ice age was imminent. In the video, Bastardi explains his theory that "weather goes in a lot of cycles, and we're going to see a lot more of the cold trending here over the next 20 or 30 years." WND previously reported President Obama's science czar John Holdren was among the scientists who predicted 1 billion people would die in "carbon-dioxide induced" famines in a coming new ice age by 2020.

Whatever it is, if it changes then we MUST dump billions upon billions into climate change to save us from ourselves. /s

I just want to know (from the people who claim to know), does CO2 cause global warming or global cooling?
I thought that it helped plants to grow?
I dunno....

It is the 1970s all over again. The “concensus” once again is that we shall all freeze to death...because of human activity.

CO2 is the cause of whatever imagined calamity that can only be solved by taking your money and liberty.

Goes to show you, if you're going to believe in these hoaxes, you need to be REALLY flexible and able to adjust at a moment's notice.
Like the old timers used to say, "If you don't like the hoax, wait 15 minutes."

Ahem. We’ve BEEN in an Ice Age for the past 10+ million years, we’re only in an interglacial now, for about the last 10,000 years.
Oh, and BTW, the typical interglacial lasts ~10000 years, +/- a few thousand years. . .

I honestly WISH we had ‘Global Warming’ right now. I can’t stand this cold weather!
All throughout the history of our planet, living things have always thrived during the warm periods between Ice Ages. Any attempt on the part of man to lower the temperature would be idiotic, assuming we have any control over the temperature in the first place, which I seriously doubt.

That’s why the move is to calling it “climate change” rather than “global warming”. “Climate change” is much more flexible and covers all the bases.

Without getting technical. Yes. Plant life requires CO2 to grow and maintain. The process of photosynthesis in plants require CO2 gas in order to create the sugars and some other things they need to stay healthy. Animals breath out CO2 as well as do plants. It is a harmless gas.
Can CO2 cause either warming or cooling within any of the layers of our atmosphere? Not to any extent where it can effect the over all temperature ranges of our atmosphere.
We must remember CO2 constitutes only 0.36 of 1 percent of the total gas mixtures. In short it is a trace gas.
Lab studies using instrumentation such as Infrared Spectroscopy can accurately measure at what frequencies C02 can absorb heat energy. Take my word for it, it is a very small amount of energy and the issue as how this energy can then somehow be transmitted into say water molecules just to name one part of the over all atmosphere is in constant debate.
But most studies on the subject show that C02 simply cannot contribute to any significant level of atmospheric warming that then somehow (non-technical remember), through what is called emissions. One can view papers by physicist and others that clearly show the thermodynamics (heat transfer mathematics), simply would not allow C02 to cause any form of global warming. Nor an opposite effect, global cooling.
In fact there are papers that I for one am trying to get peered reviewed that demonstrate the whole greenhouse effect is bad science to begin with. It gets very complicated.
But as many have been predicting we have been in a continued slow global cooling for many many years, with a short break of warming for about a ten year stretch that ended about ten years back, roughly.
The people who have pushed for global warming fudged the models used to predict climate changes, and we now know they also badly manipulated a lot of raw data that many of the models used to make it look like we where in a steady global warming trend.
Hope the above gives you a little snap shot into what has been going on. Here is one web site you can view to get an idea as to what has been going on
Climatedepot.com you may find it rather an interesting site.
There are other sites, but they indulge in more technical writings. If you want some. Ask me I will provide the URL to the sites.
