Rick Perry says he's going on to campaign in Florida's Jan. 31 Republican presidential primary - no matter how he fares in South Carolina.

Good. Candidates need to give the voters a chance to vote for them, and not be quitters.

With each day he stays in, Perry looks more and more desperate- and more and more a stalking horse for Romney.

Well he is from Texas, Texas raised and Texas has horses so nothing new or startling about that.

Judging from the disruptive posters, Gov. Rick Perry must be surging in SC.

What do Perry folks believe Santorum should do if he comes in Third behind Gingrich and Romney?

Whatever he feels he should.

Of course he is. The question is, what's the political payoff for Perry besides continuing on his fantasy road trip?

That analysis is a common one, but trying to run the other-than-Romneys out of the race as quickly as possible plays into the Romney voters hands. If everybody now in the race just stays in the race throughout the entire state-by-state primary process and convention system, Romney winds up at the convention having garnered his 20-something percent of the vote. The other 80% of more-or-less conservative delegates and candidates are going to stand idly by while the liberal candidate with 20-something percent takes the nomination? I don’t think so.

I would hope he stays in the race all the way through to the National Convention. If he did not plan to do that, he never should have started his run in the first place.

As Sarah Palin said last night, it's great that Santorum got the "conservative" nod yesterday from the Texas meeting but the election is going to be one on JOBS. [end Palin]

.... which = Gov. Rick Perry.

Gov. Rick Perry must be surging in SC.

He's surged all the way up to 6%. For fun, here's a test. Which quote is from Rick Perry, and which is from Obama?

1) "There is something inherently wrong when getting rich off failure and sticking it to someone else is how you do your business and I happen to think that’s indefensible."

2) "some of the salaries and bonuses that we've seen creates perverse incentives to take reckless risks that contributed to the crisis. It's what helped lead to a relentless focus on a company's next quarter, to the detriment of its next year or its next decade."

That Perry attacks from the left might be responsible for the fact that he's not at a commanding 8%.

No, what is clear is that Perry has no chance of winning and hasn’t for some time and that, by continuing to stay in, he is serving Mitt Romney’s interests more than his own.

It’s over Gov. Perry and you have no one to blame but yourself.

That's wishful thinking. There is no-way, no-how, that the Establishment would allow such a fantasy to occur.

The rest of America isn't interested in hearing about minimum wage jobs held largely by illegals anymore than they are interested in a candidate that has yet to win a state primary, that won't win in SC and most certainly won't win in FL.

All Perry is doing now is fishing for another government job, only this time it could be a federal gig. Just think, Perry could end up being a triple dipper.

That answer begs the question.

The reason you went that way with it was you know I am right, Romney could be stopped that way just like the elder Romney, and Rockefeller were stopped in 1964.

How would they stop it? (that is not a rhotorical question; what actions would they take to stop it?)

Perry is my Gov. I like him as my Gov. He’s a good guy with good intentions but he’s looked really goofy sometimes running for Pres. and I don’t see him getting over 10% ever. I hope he withdraws and endorses Newt or Santorum quickly.

So Santorum is not fiscally conservative and Newt is not socially conservative and neither are small government conservatives so I say Newt and Santorum do nothing to fix the problems in Washington and I for on would not support Santorum.

If you believe a word Newt says your willfully blind.
