Somebody help me or point me someplace.

I have an Imac, hi-speed DSL Wi-fi, an HD 42” TV, and an AT&T U-verse package of cell-phone, DSL, and TV channels & movies.

I am paying through the nose for my set-up, and my wife is locked in for another year because of her phone.

We only watch a few channels of the regular hourly stuff - Suits, Southland, history, H2, NCIS, NGC, etc.. The movie selections suck. We pay for hundreds of movie and special channels we never use. Some Hulu movies come with it but I don’t want to watch movies on my computer - I would like to see them on the TV.

What do I need to watch Hulu on the TV, and what can I do to cut back my U-verse bill and get more good movies? Also, If I get the box or whatever to watch Hulu and others on the TV, can I still use my computer for other things?

I’ve heard of all of this but never gotten a final plan on how to do it.

Thanks!!!

I don’t know if it will work for you but I got an HTMI cable that plugs my wife’s laptop to the TV. We watch movies from Amazon Prime all the time. Last week they even showed Skyfall for free.

Get a ROKU box. It costs $49 and you can watch hulu, crackle, amazon etc...

some are free, some are 7-8 per month. Much cheaper than cable.

Some other possibilities include game players (even Wii has Netflix and Amazon). A Sony Blu-Ray will set you back about $100 and has Netflix, Amazon, YouTube, Pandora, Vudu,Crackle and just about everything else mentioned on this thread...plus you can play DVDs, CDs and the Blu-Rays.

I have a MAC Mini connected to my tv. With wireless keyboard and mouse/touchpad it becomes just a really big monitor. Most broadcast channels now stream the last few new episodes free. However, for some cable shows from TNT or USA Network, they require validation that you legitimately receive those channels via a subscriber service and authenticate you through your subscriber login ID. Even their iPad app requires such an authentication for viewing on the go.

So do your research before cutting the cord if shows you like are on cable channels as opposed to broadcast networks.
