True, but the IRS often takes the position that the entire balance of tax, interest, and penalties due is simply a single "tax due". You, or more likely your attorney have to argue with them until they concede that the balance really consists of separate items. I would not be surprised if they make the same argument with any penalties related to not having health insurance. So from the point of view of an individual taxpayer, unless you want to head for the Federal Courts, the IRS may well attempt to secure liens and levies based on the Obamacare penalties.
And they all have new shotguns too.
I do find it very funny and disconcerting that freepers on this thread would actually quote the O’Commie CrappyCare legislation.
My reasons are:
My SS card says only for collecting benefits and not to be used for ID. Well how did trusting what government said work for us? Now it is demanded for all sorts of ID except if you are scum sneaking in South of our border.
My copy of our Founding documents state clearly that the RTKBA “SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED” yet the Federal government and various state governments have created a giant spider web of infringements. How is that working for us?
We have a filthy vermin of a president who unilaterally changed the O’Commie CrappyCare law then refuses any legislation which restores this crap to its original language. How are the government’s promises looking now?
There is not a single person in Washington or most state government who I trust to say what the mean and mean what they say.

The IRS was already authorized to do so for any unpaid tax. Did Obamacare actually forbid this practice?
If you go to the website and opt-in to Obamacare does your $537 a month come in pre-tax or after tax dollars?
Looks good on the surface, but I don’t speak legalese. Did you find any parts that gave the President the power to grant wavers and delay implementation of parts of Statutory Law?
Don’t think the money in “your” account is your money. That’s not the way libs/leftists think. Remember, you didn’t earn that money, so it’s not yours. It’s the government’s to dole out to you in slivers from time to time.

That is correct - any refund due will be adjusted.
So basically they have criminalized not being able to afford health insurance.
You can also expect mandatory drug tests, and requirements for what you can eat.
