Grieving Horse Emotionally ‘Cries’ At His Owner’s Funeral

Horses are by nature very different from other animals, and their behaviors are much close to that of humans than one would think. They are social creatures and always seek attachment, just like us.

Photo showing a grieving horse in Brazil that smelt his late owner’s casket and emotionally hugged it before breaking down in anguish went viral

Horses have a very strong sense of smell

That horse knew his owners corpse was in there same as a dog would

Horses are kind of like cats too

They can be aloof

My Hanoverian loves me.....very affectionate and he’s a monster size wise...a fine majestic bay

My chestnut thoroughbred if aggravated would double back kick me if I took his alfalfa half bale from him

He suffers fools none...but fast as the wind

They are like dogs to me

Good for you. He’ll capture your heart. You’ll need to watch out for scratching him. Once you start, it will be almost impossible to stop. My nickname for the breed is Honey Monster Love Dogs.

Beautiful post. When I was growing up I had a pony who was so sweet. Sometimes I would read in the sun sitting with her in the field. She would be laying down and I would be leaning up against her while sitting next to her. Loved her.

Unfortunately, she was poisoned by someone dumping chemicals in the creek she drank out of. I don't know if they ever found out who did it.

It is a bit curious why she seemingly doesn’t smile like a normal person.

Has anybody known someone who smiled like that, and if so did they have any unique psychological qualities? Impulsivity? Unhinged? Aggression?

A lot of expressions you can make them in a mirror, and kind of feel what the person making them would feel inside. But I make that face and I feel like somebody who can’t feel what makes people smile or doesn’t know what it is to smile, and I am faking it by simply baring my teeth like the human creatures around me would.

It looks unusual, but I get the feel it is even more unusual than that.

God gave man dominion over all animals but only horses and dogs know it
