Constitutionally, the War Powers Act should be repealed. Congress should put its neck on the line when we send our troops into harm’s way.

Look at Iraq.....congress voted to support Bush then turned around and opposed him. What bullshit.

The War Powers Act allows politicians to have it both ways.

The choice isn’t between an all out land invasion of Iraq and doing nothing. These people are slimes.

Still one of the best in congress. Weird thing is he said he spoke with trump and he was cool with the vote. But now the White House is not communicating with him. Hmmmmm. I’d still rather have 435 of him then 1 nancy Pelosi.

I hope they strip him of his House Manager job for the Impeachment trial! Fast judgement for a stupid vote that he sided with Pelosi instead of our President!!

I don’t really have a problem with it. I don’t really care for it either.

Looks like the President has a problem with it though. Oops.

It’s amazing how many Republicans there are that go out of their way to make absolute fools of themselves.

To be honest, I can’t imagine why anyone would vote with the Democrat Party on anything at all, Matt.

If Obama was still president and a GOP-controlled House passed a resolution like this to limit his authority to launch a military campaign in some Third World dump, the author of this piece would be fawning all over Gaetz and his fellow Republicans.

Should happen alongside a vote for term limits on Senators and House members.

The microphone and camera gets in their eyes and they can’t help themselves. McCain was the worst. He was drawn like a magnet to the microphone and camera, usually to say idiotic things that hurt his own party. McCain was a dummy.

Theater. If Trump was going to march on Tehran he would go to congress. Its what the law and constitution, not to mention practical necessity, require. So the silly resolution is just grandstanding.

He did the same (just like my ass-wipe Rep Mooney, WV) on this vote to help make muzzies a “protected” class.
Just another step on the road to sharia

Gaetz torpedoed his future in national politics. I considered him to be a player in 2024, no more. My congressman, Thomas Massie, a 95+ conservative rated Republican was squarely in the running to eventually replace Mitch McConnell. This vote and his anti Trump using pentagon funds for the wall vote have scuttled his future. One Rand Paul type flake senator from Kentucky is more than enough.

My flaky congressman, Thomas Massie, supported the resolution. I give him credit that he sponsored a pro war powers act against Barry. On this issue at least Massie is consistent in being wrong.

The last thing the America needs is yet another GOP “nuanced” a-hole that thinks he’s special.

I’ve already told Mooney that I would work for, vote for and donate to ANYONE who faced him in the primary. I will even send him an image of the check.
Should he survive to the general I will, for only the second time in more than 50 years of voting, cast for a RAT.
