It strikes me that he repeatedly refers to “the hidden enemy” in his press conferences. Whether global or domestic, I’m convinced he’s talking about more than COVID-19.
What that is we may never know, but I do know President Trump and America can use our prayers.
When politicians can stay in Congress after saying Guam was in danger of capsizing is it any wonder that official stupidity endures and prospers?
coz our leaders no longer come from society (except Trump) but are almost uniformally career politicians who only know appearance and virtue signaling.
Combine that with a set of “scientists” who have entrenched themselves at the same public trough and want to appear as ideological masters rather than give sound advice and you’ve got a stew of corruption, idiocy and actions which are mindbogglingly insane.
TL;DR - they’re stupid.
That doesn’t belay the fact that this flu is virulent and spreads easily (See the meat packing plant in Logansport IN and a Wal-Mart in another state that has 20% of its staff infected in the span of a week) and you’ve got politicans playing CYA and going dictatorial.
Re-opening so people can continue their lives is paramount but we’ll need real leadership to stay on top of this and mitigate micro outbreaks as they occur
I know Freeper Karen and Ken are biting nails and sucking thumb throughout this. Control and political power has overtaken what once was a very real health crisis. Even our side has gotten into the game. If we lay what was done by Obama through multiple and similar health crisis with the reaction by the media over what we have now,it is quite shocking. The common denominator of these “leaders” is the inner tyrant coming out. I expect this from other countries but some of the American states are DISGUSTING with the governors and lower government. The DNC overall is nothing less now than a socialist party and a very grave threat to our Republic. This BS “new normal” and aftermath is a blank check to those who want to rape our society.
Today, information is dispersed instantly around the world. Those in power are more inclined to react or overreact quickly to a perceived worldwide crisis.
Sincere concern from certain medical and health professionals.
Politicians both right and left have learned to exploit crisis' as never before for their own political ends. "Never let a crisis go to waste".
Globalists interests.
Communists interests.
Pharma interests.
Bureaucrat interests (Fauci, Birx, CDC, NIH, WHO).
Business self-interests. Who gains from this crisis?

It was the “perfect storm” influenza, the “thermonuclear” influenza. It had every advantage to make it the ultimate disease, with human fatalities originally estimated to be well over a billion people. Likewise, most farm and domestic animals could catch it as well, so even if it didn’t wipe out people directly, they would still starve to death.
The world medical community was so terrified that even North Korea, which normally ignores epidemics, agreed to help.
Some idiot scientist managed to show that with just 5 ordinary mutations, it could have emerged as a human to human transmitted disease. But for unknown reasons it never did.
The world was very close to a biological apocalypse.
And the world’s response was poor. Even the US had no real plan of what to do, what our strengths and weaknesses were.
So I have a strong suspicion that at that time, it was decided that when the next highly infectious, but otherwise ordinary disease rolled around, which happens with fair frequency, that the world medical community would pretend that it was serious, and quarantines at the national level would be tested, to see if they work.
And the US and other nations have learned a heck of a lot so far.
So I would put this all down to being a massive training exercise, so we will have some idea of what to do if we ever face a real threat, like H5N1, again
The other big question which no one has really touched on is why does the rest of the world sign on and participate if it is purely a US over reaction?
Like the OP, I have felt that there was more going on from the beginning. My thoughts have always been War. If you can, you don’t just jump right into War. If you are able to, you mobilize and gear up. A two ( maybe three) month timeframe is ideal. IF Covid 19 was an attack then War is inevitable.
That’s an interesting theory. But my fear is that it will be “The Boy Who Cried Wolf”, so when the real one comes, people will act as if were a hoax.

Ooh! Conspiracy theories! Here’s mine: I think Americans are not being immunized for TB because the vaccine conveys health benefits beyond fighting TB for various inflammatory based illnesses that the pharmaceutical industry is currently making a ton of money on. The elites will all tell you that you can’t stop contagious disease like Covid-19 with borders, but long before there was Covid-19 there was TB, and our porous borders are letting sick people through as well as well people. If it is true that the elites actually gave a flying crap about our health, then why the hypocrisy on TB? I think the American people have been purposefully weakened by big pharma in order to make money, and that sets up the situation where anyone with a good lab and bad intent can hold our nation hostage.

The American communists, liberals, found that to be an effective idea to stop Trump’s stadium rallies and destroy the economy he was running on.
Simple as that. They probably didn’t count on the conservative retiree population to back them as they have been.
