More likely, peoples attitudes cause them to elevate a conversation about a simple infraction or misdemeanor into a felony. Felony takedowns can be a bitch.
Oh gee...though we know police are 'targets' and the criminals can and do shoot....lets just have the officer take notes on the level of threat before he protects himself......LOLOLOLOL.
Law enforcement officers throughout the United States face real danger every single day, including during routine traffic stops.
Cops escalate simple traffic stops into arrests for violations which are uncalled for.

Refuse to answer some of their intrusive questions and see what happens. We need the police but some of their tactics have gotten a little heavy handed. That said, they do operate in a very dangerous/hostile environment most of the time.
I saw a car pulled over in a quiet neighborhood yesterday that had three police cars behind it. A sign of the times we live in.
Lassoes, like in the old cartoons.
No problem. If someone resists arrest, the cops will just call for unarmed social workers as backup.
Maybe the car you saw in that quiet neighborhood with three police cars was the getaway car from an armed robbery. There could well be good reason why there were three police cars on the scene. Odds are it was not a routine traffic stop to give somebody a speeding ticket.
I like Archies method.
Archie Bunker:
Aw, Roselli, huh? Jeez, whatever happened to all the Irish cops on the force? Let me tell ya, them are the guys who knew how to handle crime on the streets. They was always out there bustin’ heads.
Sgt. Blair:
You like those old stereotypes, huh?
Archie Bunker:
Best types of all! They didn’t waste no time bringing the “crinimals” into court to be let go. They’d grab a guy, they’d tell him, “hey, you don’t do that no more!” Then they’d crack him on the skull so he wouldn’t forget!
Sgt. Blair:
[Sarcastically] Nowadays our methods aren’t quite so sophisticated.
Archie Bunker:
That’s what I’m saying! A crack on the head is worth a thousand words
Order will ensue? Vigilantism is an effective means of order?
Exactly what NYC had done prior to the forming of its police force in 1842.
Teach children (and adults)(1) Show respect and deference to sworn police officers. (2) Obey police commands. (3) Do not resist, argue or fight with the police.
Not my first choice, and not as orderly as good policing, but it does work. Mostly.
Vigilantism is a result of anarchy. Anarchy never works.
Learn the Vulcan neck pinch.
Vigilantism is one step better than anarchy. I imagine the Black Lies Matter thugs will beg for the police once they find out that ordinary, decent citizens are a lot less gentle than the police when it comes to our unconstrained response to arsonists, rapists, and looters. I definitely prefer the rule of law, but the United States is too well armed for even the democrats to turn us into Mogadishu.
OHSA is very deeply ingrained in just about every job in America that requires any form of manual labor. There are regulations out the kazoo about how to safely perform tasks at work. Workers are never to be asked to perform a task that cannot be done safely. Yet, policemen are being expected to do so. when a policeman confronts someone that does not want to be arrested, and proceeds to try to arrest that individual, the policeman is putting himself/herself in harms way. Policemen are being sacrificed at the alter of danger to appease the race gods.
