Not much difference between what’s in the video and what an oil burning power plant delivers to your outlet at home, when you plug in your Tesla there.

You nailed it. This is a huge deterrent to a lot of people.

If you use an electric car like a gas powered car, you will need a method to fill up in a matter of minutes or it’s just not usable. You have to be very careful to watch your energy usage so you don’t get stuck because the weather is too cold or you turned on feature that uses up the battery charge too quickly.

Running around town, showing off your shiny new toy or back and forth to work is probably not a problem if you charge every night like a smart phone. The problem comes in if you forget one night and run out on your way home from work. I guess you could do a partial charge. Personally I much more prefer being able to go from empty to full in a matter of a few minutes.

I’m not a big fan of electric cars as normal transportation, mostly based on my driving habits. For some people, it might be a very good transportation solution. Having said that, I think Tesla’s advances in battery technology can be a game changer for any battery operated device. To me, that is far more exciting than any electric car could be.

Optimum charge for cars is 15-85%, neither fully discharged, nor charged.

There are a few videos on YouTube of Tesla's being charged with generator's and one in which they used an 8 kilowatt generator carried by a Hummer to do so.🤭🙄

Natural gas, coal, nuclear, hydroelectric, solar, wind, geothermal—diesel reserved for remote off-the-grid. Some gas turbines had the option to switch from NG to liquid petroleum fuels as an emergency backup. Grid generation shifted away from petroleum fuel to coal after the first oil embargo.

The power station nearest to me in Northport NY uses conventional oil and gas.

It was one of the last oil burning units built in the US. It is exempt from the federal Clean Air Act.

Onboard gas turbine (100 kW) results in a series-hybrid powertrain. The battery packs are charged from the grid as the normal course of action. The small turbine backs up the battery pack in the occurrence of depletion. The turbine runs either at full output or is turned off.

The axle motors are always driven from the battery pack. There are four-speed torque multiplying gearbox to match for load and speed requirements. This approach allowed fleet service vehicles operating a route to triple energy efficiency over typical diesel power trains.

Seems like Tesla offers a choice of colours. Black, or black.

Tesla offers 5 colors (white, black, silver, blue, and red). All but white cost extra (up to $2500 more).
