I love the mini shells. Instead of 9 in a Mossberg 590A1, there are 12. Less recoil due to less power but no factor on soft targets. The slugs are devastating since they carry 3 times the power of a 44 magnum, but they are really controllable on recoil. The buckshot is sweet and patterns nicely. At 25 yards, about a 4 foot circle. Guaranteed to break molotov glass.

New York State also has a Castle Doctrine. The doctrine states that if a persons dwelling or occupied building is being invaded or burglarized, the occupant can use deadly force without a warning shot, calling 9-1-1, or a belief that the person is armed.

Point is that issue is a state by state issue. And even in some states a jury pool by jury pool or Prosecutor by Prosecutor problem.
In the state where I live, we have passed some material legislation affecting the basic relationships---making it illegal for an agent, officer, contractor or employee of the federal government to carry a gun in the state while attempting to enforce federal legislation for example.
In the second Obama Term, we had draft legislation setting up the mechanism for a citizen militia.
Other states and local jurisdictions are different. Even the McCloskey's in St. Louis in a pro Commie election environment with a pro-Commie prosecutor are likely to get a jury pool that won't even consider convicting them of anything.
I doubt that charges against Rittenhouse ever get to a court room.
While I totally agree, the reality is that in those Dem ruled areas, with Soros DA’s—Well, those people also need to be prepared to be arrested and charged with murder.
Like Kyle Rittenhouse. And the St. Louis couple who didn’t even use their weapons, and yet were charged—and Mo. is a Castle Doctrine state-so you would not really expect that to be an outcome-yet there it is.
The state of law, order, and justice in the USA is pathetic. And vigilantism does not end well. Read about the fate of the leader of the Bald Knobbers - Dave Walker. The group was formed to protect citizens after the civil war from raiders.
It did not end well. Protect your home and family and look into civil defense for your community. Maybe even explore with the local sheriffs some volunteer duties.
Remember, the Sheriff can form a legal posse. Some Sheriffs and Police, train with veterans who volunteer and are ready to be called to help the local police/sheriff when faced with unrest that they don’t have the staff to deal with. Just a thought for areas with more sensible leaders.
One would think that people living in these areas would have kicked the DemonRATs to the curb ages ago.
