White House Finalizes Partnership With CVS and Walgreens to Provide Free COVID-19 Vaccinations to Seniors at Nursing Homes

When a COVID-19 vaccination is approved, senior citizens and nursing homes will have access to a vaccination free of charge, President Trump announced Friday.

Trump said:

“Today I’m thrilled to announce we have just finalized a partnership with CVS and Walgreens, places you know pretty well, I guess, to immediately deliver the vaccine directly to nursing homes at no cost to our seniors, no cost. Once you have that vaccine, these are very effective, once you have that vaccine you can open those doors and say, “Here I am.””

These poor people have been isolated from family for over six months now; it’s beyond cruel. Give them the vaccines and let them live their lives surrounded by loved ones.

It is a very good thing. Apparently the vaccine will be released right after the election, and maybe we can start to get back to normal.

Personally, I probably won’t get it, but a lot of people seem to be terrified and unwilling to stop these stupid shutdowns until a vaccine comes along.

This was a good move by Trump.

This is a very good thing.

But what about the rest of us who are not in nursing homes? I got the flu vaccine at my local CVS for free, as arranged by my insurance company. I hope to get the covid vaccine (once proven safe and effective) the same way, without hassle.

My health care provider scheduled a hard-to-get-rid of reminder to get the flu vaccine. I hope to get the same for the covid vaccine—even though I usually hate hard-to-get-rid of reminders!

By the way, we pro-vaccine people are NOT fearful!!!! We would just like to get immunity to covid for everyone so that we can get back to normal—work, Church, love, friendship, shopping, travel, etc.

“We would just like to get immunity to covid for everyone so that we can get back to normal”

Actually, we could go back to normal now. Covid is not inherently worse than the flu (the elderly need to take precautions). And there there ARE treatments that are 99% effective, if taken early enough.

Put the Donkey governors and mayors at the front of the line.

Then, wait two weeks.

I agree, but there are a lot of people who are in such a state of fear that nothing but a sort of “safe passage” will get them out of it.

I run a volunteer organization that maintains an historic site and one of my volunteers just informed me that she is still too terrified to come out and deal with the (dread, germ-bearing) public. And I always thought she was a pretty rational woman, but she and her husband and adult kids watch a lot of TV and they’re all terrified.

The spouse and a cousin think the same as your volunteer associate.

Well, some people of all ages unpredictably get long-term adverse effects from covid, and there are other pre-existing conditions that render one “vulnerable”. And people over 65 should have the right to have normal lives too.

And then there are those governors and other politicians who want excuses to keep us locked down.

We do need safe and effective vaccines (including vaccines against tyrannical governors)!!!!

If you follow what Fauci and many other epidemiologists are saying having a vaccine isn’t sufficient to get us back to normal. Those folks are saying that we should still be wearing masks, social distancing, etc., etc. through all of 2021 and well into 2022.

By all means, knock yourselves out if you FEEL the vaccine will cure what may or may not ail you.

Given the short time “time to market”, I’ll take a hard pass.

I suspect at some point in the not to distant future, we will all be forced “to comply” if we want to “return to normal” life.

A vaccine will have gone through Phase III trials, it will have been judged to be safe like the flu vaccine you received last year. It is ultimately your choice, but you are in the highest risk factor group for the Wu flu. I plan to get the vaccine as I am a front line provider and will be happy to have immunity.

Well, your first flaw is vaccines dont CURE, they PREVENT. Secondly its not a FEEL, its confirmed with RIGOROUS TESTING. So go ahead and keep spewing false statements — it makes you look like an idiot.

White House Finalizes Partnership With CVS and Walgreens to Provide Free COVID-19 Vaccinations to Seniors at Nursing Homes

Wouldn't the vaccine be covered by Medicare at no cost to the senior regardless of who provides it?

Rigorous testing my azz.

That generally takes longer than a few months so who’s spewing false statements.

Take a good hard look in a mirror.

Phase I - 30 Patients
Phase II - 300 Patients
Phase III — 45,000 patients

The exact same testing of every other therapeutic. Production in parallel with testing, there is a risk of financial loss, but a gain of immediate availability.

SARS vaccine was studies extensively in original SARS and MERS. This has been in studies for over a decade.

So why dont you take your smug, arrogant, idiotic lack of knowledge that you portray as false statements, get a real education, or short of it a real clue and let the adults have the conversation. It is obvious you have the mentality of a four year old petulant child.

Idiot.
