I’m sure this worker already knows that. But the union leadership does what it wants, when it wants. The wishes of the membership mean nothing.
So how does the leadership stay in power? I was a union member for 30 years, and I could tell you stories that would make Stalin blush.
Building this pipeline is nothing new. If people saw the map of all the pipelines cross-crossing this country, they would be amazed. As usual, politicians and media are too lazy to do their research.

People who voted Democrat remind me of an old college joke.
The old boyfriend (politician) drops by the ex-girlfriend’s (Democrat voter). He starts talking about the way things used to be between them. He asks if she’s hungry & wants to go get dinner at the newest place in town.
As they start getting ready to leave, he seduces her for old times sake and both are having a good time.
After he’s finished, he hops out of bed, grabs his clothes, cleans himself off on her new curtains and starts to head for the door. She asks if they are still going to go get dinner. He replies, “Naw, I ate pizza with the guys at work before I came over.”

Obama terminated my job in 2010 when he went for a swim in an unaffected area of Pensacola Bay to send a message to the Coast Guard he wanted the gulf oil spill off the front page. We lost our contract, I was sent home to Ohio, and laid off. I ended up taking my retirement after the severance ran out.
I never saw a pipeline take so long to build. He has been a welding supervisor on the line since 1997? In spite of delays it is taking longer than the Alyeska Pipeline to build.

They get millions from the Environmental lobby. And big businesses are all jumping on the bandwagon (gotta invest in “responsible” ways). Black Rock just announced they won’t do business with any company that doesn’t have a policy to fight “climate change.”
State and city governments too (will pull pension funds out of any venture that has to do with oil or gas).

This pipeline was put on hold under Obama, got the approval from Trump to start their work and they did for about 2 years, and then got halted again by Biden. What do you expect?
It’s GOVERNMENT that’s creating uncertainty. There was a time when we could build an impressive structure like the Empire State Building in 18 months at the height of the great depression. Those days are gone.
