EXCLUSIVE: Bridgestone Creates Two Classes of Employees—The Vaccinated and the Unvaccinated
PJ Media ^ | April 14, 2021 | Stacey Lennox

...First, the company is offering a $100 “Vaccine Support Payment.” Other companies have decided to do this, but Bridgestone will be tracking that information in Workday, their enterprise management system. If employees do not apply for the payment, they must report their vaccine status to the Human Resources Business Partner, who will enter it into the system. According to the policy, employees may be asked to present their government-issued COVID-19 vaccination record as evidence of complete vaccination....

Under HIPAA, vaccination status is considered protected health information according to Abbye Alexander, JD, Partner, Kaufman Dolowich & Voluck, Orlando...

It is unclear from the policy which management staff would have access to the employees’ vaccination disclosures, though, given the travel policy requirements, managers and human resources would need to know employees’ vaccination statuses to monitor compliance. It is rather astounding that Bridgestone is not managing the vaccine payment through a health and wellness provider or their health insurance company. Either of these would put a solid wall between the company and the employee’s protected health information, which, during the 15 years I spent in HR, was always the preferred situation....

More and more companies are doing this. Most are making vaccination a condition for employment. Unfortunately I work for one of those companies. We had three long term employees quit due to this.

If someone asks you to show your vaccine card, ask them to show you their HIPAA card.

I expect lawsuits over the violations of medical and religious privacy.

There are people that for health reasons can’t take the shots.

Did you know the 3 folks that quit?

Freepmail me if necessary; I’ve a similar story.

I noticed in the article it mentions that people with HIV wouldn’t be able to take the shots.

Gonna be interesting to see what comes of that.

Discrimination suit .....

Lawyers who specialize in class action lawsuits need to start compiling lists of companies that do this and working up their ads to pull in defendants.

Better call Saul!

I work for a very global company we are in the propaganda phase of the shots. I see a day down the road where they vector all employees into the shot chute.

I appreciate seeing both sides even if some are shedding conservative values and selling out. If we had a normal America without this hard sell of shots, tyrannical lock down and COVID politics , maybe my decision could be easier. I don’t trust the CDC with my life any more than trusting Bill Gates. All of this is so bizzare but equally scary times for our society that is crumbling by COVID-19.

This is the hill to die on. Employers can’t force you. Businesses are getting between only 50-70% compliance - It’s just not talked about openly. No business can lose that many people

Claim:
-The vaccines do not control transmission, by their own admission - no rationale for this
-The “disease”’s survival rate makes it low risk to nearly all working age people
-It is not FDA approved.
-Clinical trials are scheduled until the end of 2022 - it is experimental
-If you die from the experimental vaccine, your life insurance is invalid
-Religious conscience exemptions (aborted fetal cell tested or developed)
-Medical privacy (may not be HIPAA, but the principles underlying it); never answer any queries about whether you got it or not.
-Possible reaction - but do not specify your condition

“Bridgestone management has confidence that vaccinated employees are well protected and not likely to be vectors of transmission.”

The Vax manufacturers do not claim this. So neither can an employer’s HR or PR department.

Managment just bought their own rope, Most managers are management because of their ability to kiss a$$, smooze, and pencil whip problems.. Th only people left will be the ones who HAVE TO be told what to do, when to do it and, how to do it. The entire system will slowly die as few workers will be willing to stick their necks out and do what needs to be done to keep the place rolling. Instead things will be ignored by the workers until a roof caves in. Ive seen it personally when a superviser retired and wasnt replaced.. management figured the cost was too great..Immediatey the first winter pipes froze and broke because the supervisor wasnt there to tell the simeone to get ooff thier a$$ and to drain all outside systems. The workers knew it would happen but shrugged their shoulders and said “ idk, no one drained the pipes this year”..

We should all read Dr. Suess’s book about the star belly sneetches. We are now living that story.

Note to PJMedia: Would you plz use a Tucker symbol in your stories to ensure we know exactly which company you’re talking about?

If it’s the Japanese Bridgestone...

Nuff said.

Like I needed another reason not to buy their tires.

I’m in the same boat. Global organization. While they’ve been pretty quiet about vaccinations, I do expect at some point that they’ll start tracking who has it. It’ll start as voluntary disclosure, and over time, those lists will be used to pressure others to get vaccinated or look for another job.

This is the hill on which I will die. I’m already trying to figure out what I’ll do for work once they lay me off, but they’ll have to fire me. I won’t voluntarily quit. Hopefully I can find a local gig as an electrician or carpenter, but it won’t net me the same pay I’m making now. Guess the wife and I will need to buckle down. Beans and rice, rice and beans.

So, it’s illegal to mandate anyone get the emergency approval shot, but without it you can’t work or go into a public building. So you die.

I hate what this formerly-great country has become.

All the more reason for the lawsuits, to push the point that anything under an EUA can’t be mandatory.

Yep, I dealt with those manager types, and many times was tempted to go all R. Lee Ermey on them.

But HR weenies are a whole nother level above (?) management; absolutely impossible to deal with.

Having said that, I hope companies like Bridgestone get the book thrown at them in class action/ labor law/ HIPAA law/ ADA law lawsuits.
