Roger Stone Rips into ‘Yale Harvard Fat Boy’ Ron DeSantis Amid Reports of Tensions With Trump

Former Trump campaign advisor Roger Stone tore into Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) on Monday after an Axios report detailed former President Donald Trump’s frustrations with the governor.

Axios reported Sunday night that Trump is “irked by DeSantis’ popularity and refusal to rule out running against him” in 2024. The report cited sources close to Trump, saying the former president has been “trashing Ron DeSantis in private as an ingrate with a ‘dull personality.’”

Stone took the criticism a step further, writing on social media, “Trump sometimes President Donald Trump hits it right on the nose. Ron DeSantis Yale Harvard fat boy can’t get out of his own way. Not smart. Not honest and not going to be president.”

Stone, known for his conspiratorial rhetoric, added that DeSantis was “An unknown congressman with a bad haircut and an ill-fitting suit until Donald Trump made him governor.”

I’m gonna throw the typo flag on “fat” boy. Probly meant frat boy for it to make sense. DeSantis was a Naval officer and looks to be in pretty good shape-—the rest of the above nonsense not withstanding.

I’ll bet Trump and DeSantis speak on a regular basis.

From what I’ve read and seen, DeSantis has publicly stated he is not running for president in 2024 and has stated as such for a while now.

This is a left wing attempt to fracture Republican alliances. I would not believe anything they are reporting. It is standard operating procedure for democRATs and Republicans keep falling for it.

If Trump and his allies plan to trash DeSantis, he’s lost me.

So the FIB turned Stone into an asset to use on Trump as desired?

Roger Stone, while a Trump supporter back in 2015, was never brought in on an official or unofficial basis by the Trump Administration. Additionally, he was fired by Trump early in the campaign. I am sympathetic to his persecution during the Russian influence hoax and the Star Chamber trial to which he was subject. That being said, I don't understand what purpose Stone's attacks on DeSantis serves.

That is 100% wrong.

There is nothing in the law that prevents DeSantis and Trump from running on the same ticket.

1. It wouldn't be a smart thing to do anyway, because the Constitution would restrict Florida electors (only) from voting for both of them, and that could bring unnecessary complications in a tight election.

2. Why are so many people here on FR so dumb to believe that Trump is imprisoned in Florida, and couldn't legally change his state of residence over the course of about 48 hours?

That’s not an actual requirement or restriction. So yeah, they can.

"Fake News" isn't news you don't like. Stone said it:

Trump better not secretly fight against DeSantis.
The people who like DeSantis are Trump supporters. DeSantis is effective.

I can’t support Trump if he makes noise like this.

I have no sympathy for Stone. He was prosecuted for lying to Congress -- after he went and voluntarily testified to Congress without a subpoena as part of a stupid P.R. stunt.

From what I’ve read and seen, DeSantis has publicly stated he is not running for president in 2024 and has stated as such for a while now.

DeSantis would be wise to keep a lid on any presidential ambitions until after he's wrapped up his gubernatorial re-election and it appears he's doing just that.
