General Motors (GM) faces an unprecedented EV crisis as CEO Mary Barra unexpectedly halts EV production and scraps most electric plans. This abrupt move has reverberated across the automotive landscape. The primary reason? A significant lack of demand. Dealerships are overwhelmed with nearly 92,000 unsold EVs, posing a daunting challenge.

They knew, but all they could smell was the government cheese.
Yeah, another bailout for Government Motors.
GM and Ford got out over their skis so-to-speak. Mary Barra of GM and Jim Farley of Ford should both lose their jobs over this.
The Left has NO FORESIGHT!
Until the battery is something other than lithium based, I’ll have a very hard time justifying an electric car. I am not willing to let the risk of fire from my 2nd most expensive asset jeopardize my most expensive one. However, I am not inclined to park that asset outside in the Texas sun.
Research is ongoing with better(?) solutions, but a final answer may be 5+ years away.
I can wait.
How idiotic did you have to be to go all in on Electric Vehicles when the public has made it quite clear that aside from Leftists in big cities, most people aren’t interested and aren’t going to buy one?
“I used self check out once...but someone had to help me. Once was enough. I’d rather see some kid keep their job...”
Absolutely! We have resisted it and refused to use it since they started pushing it. And they have tried to cause extreme hardships on everyone to try and force them to use self checkout. Like opening only one full service checkout lane. When they actually have 8 which forces folks to line up all the way to the back of the store. And then putting the slowest most incompetent checker they have working this one open lane.
We have stood in line an hour- hour and a half before. And the whole conversation in the line is loud about how much BS self checkout is and that they will no open a couple more lanes. But for all of us in that line the principle was far more important than our own time and convenience. We all agreed it was worth the personal sacrifice to stand strong on principle.
If we want to fix this country we need to put our money where our mouth is and stand on principle no matter how temporarily inconvenient it might be.
I on the other hand, love self checkout and use it every time. To each their own. The key is to allow for people to choose instead of forcing one or the other on everybody.
“Until the battery is something other than lithium based, I’ll have a very hard time justifying an electric car. “
An extremely efficient hybrid can be built with no batteries needed at all. But they refuse to do it because there is less profit and political skimming.
Is there even the remotest chance that someone will be held accountable for such stupidity? When did accountability die?
So, even liberal true believer idiots can wake up to reality? Pigs flying.
Good for you. Please read #47. Capitulation is why they lead us around by the nose ring as slaves.
When Nietzsche declared the death of God, opening the way for men to take His place.
That is what infuriates them, meaning that most of the people who wisely refuse to buy EV's are most likely deplorable, knuckle-dragging hominds--Trump supporters-- living in the great flyover zones.
When all of this initially went down I wrote on here that these executives are literally not auditing reality and I wondered how that could possibly be. Still wondering.

Pure and simple, “marketing trends”. If it is climate trend they chase that, if it is woke trend they chase that, if it is an upside down trend they chase that.
They chase whatever trend has the brightest lights and loudest sirens. And it is compulsive without any common sense or caution. Whatever makes an immediate increase in profits no matter what the long term cause and effect really is.
Why? Because they can write off their losses and make the taxpayer cover the cost of their gambling debts if the current market trend fails.
I found a reason for avoiding an EV that I never expected. Motion sickness. My wife and I took an EV uber for a 1 hour trip. Something about how the vehicle accelerates caused my wife to get motion sick,
“They are affluent and are exercising their taste for the exotic.”
And their conscience is clean knowing they are saving the planet one car at a time.
