then people can ride their bikes to the grocery store to look at the food they cant afford!
Interentingly nobody lives on 6ths street. And sixth street is a new street. So they would take a new street that nobody lives on and break it up to add bike lanes (in Milwaukee which has snow and/or ice about 6 months a year) and trees. 6th avenue has large parking garages and the outside of stadiums. Its never going to be a pretty street. Four story cement walls go up both sides. There are few businesses and no residents.
Milwaukee does have lot of streets that need fixing. But biking downtown in Milwaukee has few advantages as fewer and fewer people actually work downtown. And fewer still live there.
Figure the rotaries were to make the yankees in Texas feel like at home.
Traffic Calming defies any explanation of value or efficiency.
I love using bike trails, and my wife and I use them often to walk or ride our e-bikes on.
That said, I am wholly against building them. It just reeks to me of someone, severely in debt, building a swimming pool in their back yard.
But they keep building them.
A person can dream, but November is not likely to change anything.
The PTB won't allow it.

We’re headed into WWIII low on military supplies and Puddin’ Head wants to plant trees and bike trails with other people’s money.
By the time Obamanites and their bidenomics are done, the bike trails will be necessary.
People won’t be able to buy gas let alone cars.
Nor will they have to worry about going to work.
The grand demise is work in progress.

I rarely see any bikes in the bike lanes.
If I was running things...
No gas tax money for bike lanes, any road infrastructure to create or maintain toll lanes, HOV lanes. No landscaping except to maintain road drainage, noise barriers, etc.
Gas tax money should only be used to repair, and plan and build FREE lanes that everyone can use.
Driving a truck around NYC I’m not a fan of the bike lanes and bus lanes. The other day however I negotiated a few miles of Gun Hill Rd. in the Bronx in record time apparently because all the new lanes force drivers either into turn only lanes or straight only lanes. There was none of the constant back and forth shifting and lane blocking.
After Biden presented his plans? he boarded the short bus forth trip back to the bunker.
What happened to Build Back Better? Our infrastructure is crumbling and billions spent on a senseless war in Ukraine.
Riding the bus on bucolic 6th St. allows riders to drink beer from a paper bag while watching people on 6th street drinking beer. Quite popular in Milwaukee. Expanding this important venue will allow more people to drink more beer on 6th St.
Yup.
Visited the pit named portland this weekend.
Drove next to pristine bus & bike lanes robbed from traffic lanes while dodging potholes on the adjoining surface streets. That applies to ANY part of town.
Some of those potholes were so deep you couldn’t see the bottom in daylight as you approached.
