Chasten Buttigieg, the husband of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, said on MSNBC’s Deadline that Republicans would like LGBTQ people to “pull the trigger” and end their lives.
In an interview with host Nicole Wallace, Buttigieg described his own experience as a homosexual man:
[It requires a lot of vulnerability. It’s really hard but for me, getting to grow up to be this person was a miracle. When I was 13, 14 years old and sitting in my parent’s basement, I would stare at my dad’s gun cabinet and I thought that was the only way out. I would never know love. I would never know family. I would never know community. I thought I was the only gay person in the world. I felt like the world was telling me to pull the trigger.]
Buttigieg then went on to argue that Republicans would actively like to see vulnerable individuals commit suicide:

Voters need to start taking a good hard look at the candidates because twists like that guy are really starting to crawl out of the woodwork.

Correct, and yes, let’s start there. FWIW, I’m a traditional hetero who doesn’t want ANYone to kill themselves. That said, it’s cruel and destructive to indulge the psychotic in their psychoses. Going along with/celebrating gays and trans people doesn’t help to correct their mental illness; in fact, it only makes it worse. I liken doing so to pretending one can see and engage with the hallucinations of a schizophrenic, thinking it is the compassionate thing to do. These people need serious help out of their mental/spiritual hell.

It took an exceptionally bad transportation secretary for anyone to even know who holds the job and that wasn’t enough. Now his “spouse” has a book to sell.
I thought that they were were all cheerful and, you know, gay and stuff.
