The electorate might not be ready for a female President, but TV viewers sure are.
Tuesday's premiere of Commander in Chief, starring Geena Davis as the titular White House honcho, scored the night's highest poll numbers, averaging 16.4 million viewers in the 9 p.m. hour, per Nielsen Media Research. ABC spinmeisters say those numbers make Commander in Chief the most watched drama series debut on a Tuesday night in five years. It also helped ABC win a very competitive contest.
The night, particularly the 9-10 p.m. bloc, is shaping up to be a key ratings battleground. While Commander in Chief outpointed everyone in terms of sheer number of viewers, Fox's House, which finished second with 13.4 million viewers, triumphed in the key 18-49 demo.

Hillary, I know Geena Davis, and you are NO Geena Davis...
(Denny Crane: "Sometimes you can only look for answers from God and failing that... and Fox News".)
I will not watch this crap.
We'll see what happens...I think it depends on how "preachy" and political it is. My guess is that most people are tired of the political stuff. There are many times people turn in for the new show...especially one as hyped as this one...only to leave it.
OK, just put the kool-aid in the bucket and everyone of you take your turn with the ladel....that's it, good little liberals...all in a line....yes, that's it...
Not on my TV!
Yeah. If anyone thinks there is no bigger motive behind putting this crap out than to just make money...they are fooling themselves.
I haven't watched ABC< CBS or NBC for so long, my TV doesn't even stop there
I had it on for about 2 minutes (only because I couldn't figure out what it was).
Scene I saw: Geena Davis leaning over dying president(?). Asks him does he want her to resign. He said "Yes" because the next in line had the same ideas and plan as the dying pres.
I turned it, but since she ends up as POTUS, my guess is she went back on her word like a true liberal, so there is some reality in it!
Dang... West Wing II, expect 5+ years of this tripe. They had the Clinton I years, now they skip Bush and go straight for their 'fantasy liberal' Hillary years.
blech.
Nothing new with a female president, but a libertarian space crew that is fighting the alliance aka the federation, can't be all bad.
"Yeah. If anyone thinks there is no bigger motive behind putting this crap out than to just make money...they are fooling themselves."
That part about a former Hillary staffer being involved is just an ugly rumor I guess?
And we was right!
Next week, it is back to House.
Looks like episode 2 of th every good 'My Name is Earl' got its arse kicked. Not surprising, they promoted the heck out of 'CoC.'
Watch for Earl to get good word of mouth and momentum, though. It's the best tv comedy to come along in a while.
That should be: And he was right.
"If anyone thinks there is no bigger motive behind putting this crap out than to just make money...they are fooling themselves."
If Hollywood were interested in making money rather than pursuing their liberal agenda, they'd make films like "The Passion of Christ" more often than once a decade.
