Kitty Humor is a weekly thread (usually on Monday) on FR in the “General Interest” section.
Among all the serious news, a little humor, brought to us by our feline friends is a nice break.
Helps us get the week to a nice start.
If you want on/off the kitty humor list (185 members) or you have a picture/animation you want featured, please send me freep-mail.

I'm curious to see if my Christmas tree will still be standing this evening when I get home. Even though I have it several feet off the ground my 7 month old kitten is quite the jumper.

Have to post an old picture, haven't caught up on getting new ones into Fotki (NEVER misspell that name when you are going to the site or you get the wierdest....well, nevermind) And so here's an old one of Sam; you've probably seen it before but will do better next week.

Remember to tell your humans to keep Poinsettias
out of reach . . . they're poisonous!

Meow!

I dropped my poor kittens off at the vet this morning for their... ahem.... operations. They were bewildered because the food bowls disappeared, and the other two were hiding because they knew what "no food after nine" meant!

I know this scene well. Such a great picture!

I had a cat that simply trained me not to put up a tree because he would knock it over as often as I stood it up. He passed away recently, so I guess I'll try for a tree this year.

I am awaiting the decision to put up the big tree..We have five jumpers and I just cannot see it surviving. ANYTHING new is an invitation to seek, explore, tear apart ,jump on, recline on.
They jump HIGH!

We have one of those "Christmas Tree Wreckers" at our house too - in fact that looks a lot like him.

Nice picture of a cat and chair pillow. Looks like Santa doesn't want cat hair on his suit. Bad Santa!

Poinsettias are not lethally poisonous to humans or pets (unless a huge amount is ingested, but anything ingested in huge amounts is poisonous). They may cause upset stomach, but the (reportedly) horrible taste of poisettia leaves and flowers would keep any child or cat from eating more than one bite.

Apparently, the plants to really watch out for over the holidays are mistletoe and holly.
