Success? From diversity?
With over 224 languages spoken in the city, over 50% of the population is foreign born.
Yea, we all clearly see what a rousing success that is. You want to know real success? Try 30 years ago before there were 224 languages and the local population consisted of American Citizens, not vast numbers of criminal illegal aliens. Los Angeles was quite nice then and very much a success. Now Los Angeles is a standard to measure levels of crime in other cities.
Businesses are generally afraid to speak out because they’re frightened of reprisals by government agencies,
Frightened? Because they are criminal illegal aliens and subject to raids and arrest? Yea, they are supposed to be afraid because they are illegal. DUH!
Our dream for Los Angeles is that the over 1 million undocumented migrant workers who live here, and contribute to the city economically, culturally, and socially will have the opportunity to become legal residents of the city, and the United States.
So, what this "dream" is really, is amnesty for over a million criminal illegal alien border law violators?
Amnesty? Dream on. Even if they could get backdoor access to the United States through an Amnesty they will forever or at least 3 - 5 generations be known as "amnesty Americans."
In the 1980s I was part of a wave of brave and idealist young people who sought to revitalize downtown LA by renovating old buildings into art lofts. Apparently 20 years later the project is almost working.
Anyway, on a recent trip there I decided to show my teenage daughter when I used to live. In the process we walked from our hotel to the old loft and then to Little Japan for lunch.
My loft was on Main street, 5 blocks from city hall. This is not some weird ghetto outpost, but the very center of the “vibrant” city these fools are celebrating.
The walk to Little Japan was unbearable. The stench was overpowering, and there was human feces in the streets in several places. There stench of urine was omni-present. There were all sorts of homeless drug addicts about, intermixed with a huge number of Mexican shoppers. There was one angry-crazy black man who accousted my family at an intersection where we were waiting for the walk signal.
“Look at all these m*th*rf*ck*n Mexicans! Why you let em in here??? Huh??? It wasn’t us n*gg*s who let them in !!!!”
He looked crazy, I offered a sincere apology and quickly crossed the street.
So much for a multicultural mecca. They have to be joking. There are an estimate 500,000 active gang members in LA. There are many areas where I would not consdier walking, much less walking with my wife and daughter. Because they are full of angry ethnics who would do far worse then rant profanity at us.
These people are either stupid or in denial, celebrating the diversity of LA. LA used to be a pretty reasonable place. It no longer is.
I’m sure some of the worst Obama riots will be in LA.

IIRC, the employees (probably most now are illegals) belong to one of the biggest unions in the country.
