A magnitude 4.4 earthquake centered near Malibu rattled lots of nerves across Southern California Friday evening, but there were no reports of any injuries or serious damage. It was followed a few hours later by a 3.1 shaker, which went largely unnoticed by most people.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the first temblor struck in the Santa Monica Mountains at 6:11 p.m., about 7 miles northwest of Malibu. The second one struck at 10:34 p.m., in the same area.
The larger quake jiggled the greater Los Angeles region during afternoon rush hour and was felt as far north as Lancaster in the Mojave Desert to southern Orange County, according to online resident reports gathered by the USGS.
Kerstin Edwards, who lives a few miles from the quake's epicenter in Westlake Village, said she felt the temblor while she was upstairs in her house. She noticed no damage.
``It started off as a strong jolt,'' Edwards said. ``It's definitely one of the bigger ones I've felt.''

we felt it in Anaheim
God is telling you something. You should leave that place and never look back.
Anaheim Hills we like it
I’m glad you do. I, however, would not remain in that state.
I’d bet a cup of coffee more are killed in Tornadoes every year in Georgia, than are killed by quakes in California.

Just a wild guess, but...
Sorry bout that...I’m trying to repair the image!
So far.....
This is bad. The strain is being gradually relieved. To destroy LA and remove California as a Blue Rat state, we need a massive 9.0 at least to destroy the city completely.
Wussies...just do what REAL Californians do during an earthquake - stand next to the big screen TV and make sure it doesn’t fall over...then get on with your life...
Shoot, when I lived down there I didn’t wake up for anything less than a 5.0. Unless it was centered right under my house, of course.
My eyes! MY EYES!!!
ARRGGHHH!
7.5 on the Richter
