Four years ago, when I first started profiling scientists who were global warming skeptics, I soon learned two things: Solar scientists were overwhelmingly skeptical that humans caused climate change and, overwhelmingly, they were reluctant to go public with their views. Often, they refused to be quoted at all, saying they feared for their funding, or they feared other recriminations from climate scientists in the doomsayer camp. When the skeptics agreed to be quoted at all, they often hedged their statements, to give themselves wiggle room if accused of being a global warming denier. Scant few were outspoken about their skepticism.
No longer.
Scientists, and especially solar scientists, are becoming assertive. Maybe their newfound confidence stems from the Climategate emails, which cast doomsayer-scientists as frauds and diminished their standing within academia. Maybe their confidence stems from the avalanche of errors recently found in the reports of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, destroying its reputation as a gold standard in climate science. Maybe the solar scientists are becoming assertive because the public no longer buys the doomsayer thesis, as seen in public opinion polls throughout the developed world. Whatever it was, solar scientists are increasingly conveying a clear message on the chief cause of climate change: Its the Sun, Stupid.
Jeff Kuhn, a rising star at the University of Hawaiis Institute for Astronomy, is one of the most recent scientists to go public, revealing in press releases this month that solar scientists worldwide are on a mission to show that the Sun drives Earths climate. As a scientist who knows the data, I simply cant accept [the claim that man plays a dominant role in Earths climate], he states.

I think the “global cooling/warming/climate change” hoax has just about had it. Now we need to figure out how to get our money back from Algore and his enviroloonies.
I hope so. But I am not resting peacefully until Cap and Trade gets the deep freeze.
The Sun-Climate link likely has more to do with the sunspot cycle than with changes in the Sun’s heat output. The sunspot cycle is magnetic in nature.
I don’t think Cap’n Tax has anything to do with the environment anymore. It’s about new taxes to bail out the BIG government, BIG banks and BIG businesses that have been taken over by BIG labor.
The Center for Sun-Climate Research at the DNSC (Danish National Space Center) investigates the connection between variations in the intensity of cosmic rays and climatic changes on Earth. This field of research has been given the name 'cosmoclimatology'"..."Cosmic ray intensities and therefore cloudiness keep changing because the Sun's magnetic field varies in its ability to repel cosmic rays coming from the Galaxy, before they can reach the Earth." :

Here's an excellent ~new book out on the subject titled "The Chilling Stars, 2nd Edition: A Cosmic View of Climate Change". It's written by one of the top scientists advancing the theory (Henrik Svensmark, of the above mentioned Danish National Space Center/DNSC).
"The authors explain their theory that sub-atomic particles from exploded stars have more effect on the climate than manmade CO2."

Here's a sunspot chart showing the various peaks and dips throughout the past centuries. Note the "Medieval Max". It corresponds to the "Medieval Warm Period". The "Maunder Minimum" corresponds to the "Little Ice Age", and the "Modern Max" to the recent warming trend we had been experiencing, at least until the past 15 years or so.
"Changes in carbon-14 concentration in the Earth's atmosphere, which serves as a long term proxy of solar activity. Note the present day is on the left-hand side of this figure."
“Now we need to figure out how to get our money back from Algore and his enviroloonies.”
It’ll be easier to spit 5 feet upwind in a gale!
You are right, but the global warming is still cited as a reason it is needed by the loony left. Once they figure out that the rug has been pulled out from under them they will need to find another reason. The reason may be the one you have noted, but I hope not.
Nice pun! Maybe unintentional, but nice nonetheless
These guys are about to be persecuted.

Thanks for the pings - - great stuff - please keep me ON...
The only solar scientist I know believes climate change is a real problem and is politically active to mitigate the problems he forsees.
How can a Hydrogen-Helium fusion furnace, 865,000 miles in diameter and 8.32 light minutes away have any affect on Earth?
