"The sun is waking up from a deep slumber, and in the next few years we expect to see much higher levels of solar activity." NASA has been predicting "much higher levels" of solar activity for more than three years now, but Cycle 24 isn't cooperating. No mention of that in the article, of course.

Hmmm. Awakening from a deep slumber, where is the evidence for that? It appears to me this sunspot cycle is going to be one of the weakest we’ve seen this century. Sounds to me like they are just making the case for increased research funding.
