Time to restart the moonbase program. Where there is water...there can be beer.

A billion gallons is one square mile, 5’ deep.

The area of the moon is ~ 12,560,000 square miles.

So 5 divided by 12,560,000 gives you some idea of how much water you are going to find in one spot.

Yes, I know it is mainly at the poles, so feel free to take off a few zeros.

Don’t even think it!!!

That water belongs on the moon. If we suck it out - the moon will get lighter and float away. Then we’ll have no tides plus a lot of other bad stuff.

I’m not kidding - I looked it up.

My guess is that if my 15 year old son wants to become an astronaut, he needs to learn Hindi and move to the land of opportunity. At least they have a working capitalist society.

The billion gallon estimate is for one crater. There should be more water in other polar craters.

I’ve heard it will tip over if we send too many people up.

Don’t laugh, it happened to Guam.

As a point of reference, there are 326 million trillion gallons on Earth. So, on a percentage basis, that is about 3 octillion of a one percent.
