Calling it a theory may be a stretch anyway; I’d like to see the bare-bones of it verified (iow, are there actually records of impactors moving at a narrow range of velocities?), but I’m not optimistic.

I found more by the author, a website and a ‘blog, and holy cow. He reminds me of some folks I’ve known who tried to incorporate lots of completely unrelated things into their (usually “borrowed”) core belief systems, and rejected other things which appeared to support them, making it obvious that there was an arbitrary process going on, rather than some kind of syllogistic process, or even some basic understanding of what they were looking at.

Here’s an example, apparently the author:

http://acksblog.firmament-chaos.com/2011/01/24/solar-corona-heating/

[snip] Generally speaking, the bodies ejected from priori-Mars are smaller, although a few earth approaching asteroids have dimensions of twenty miles. The meteorites, which are all from Mars, are more typical of these bodies. The most common type of which are carbonaceous condrites, which came from the surface of the formerly living planet. Much larger, hydrated, cinder-like (low density) bodies formed from the hot jet of gases ejected from Jupiter, e.g. the main-belt asteroids. However, lacking any understanding of cyclic catastrophism, modern scientists are completely unaware of millions of these bodies still present in highly eccentric orbits around the Sun. [/snip]

That paragraph has a small smattering of real information, mixed thoroughly with some b-b-b-b-b-lips kinds of things — “modern scientists are completely unaware” — my ass they are. And if they were, how the hell would the author know about ‘em? Vision quest? Ouija board? That fortune-teller in the wagon in the movie “The Wizard of Oz”?

Wow, if this theory holds up, then all we gotta do is pack up all of our garbage and put it into an earth orbit. When the sunspots start slowin’ down, we just kick off a few to the sun to create any number of sunspots we need. Viola!! No more Meander Minimums and Little Ice Ages.

Oh, and just to make the greenies even more happier, we can “sequester” enough CO2 to encapsulate all the garbage in, thus making it a double win-win.

Now, what tree-hugging, CO2 hating libtard would be against doing all that. Ship the garbage, CO2, spent uranium, etc. into the sun and everyone wins.

Do I really need the /sarc tag?
