From the website:Really Raw® Honey is totally unprocessed honey. It still contains pollen, propolis, honeycomb and live enzymes -- all the goodness the bees put in! That's why Really Raw® Honey is creamy, smooth and spreadable with sweet and crunchy cappings. Really Raw® Honey is gathered from fields of wildflowers planted by nature.
That honey sounds rather disgusting. What do they do, just grab the honeycombs out of the hive and run them through a blender?
No thanks. I’ll take my honey pure, without insect parts and hive components in it. I also know that honey freshly harvested from the hive is clear, not opaque like in the pictures at that website. My stepfather’s business partner kept bees; I had plenty of fresh honey as a child.
Keeping pollen in the honey sounds like a great way to induce allergic reactions. Although, anyone with plant allergies should read the label to see what kind of flowers went into the honey. I had a scare not long ago, when I ate some honey and my mouth became itchy (allergic reaction). Luckily, the reaction did not develop beyond an itch.
