From one of the captions:
Yellowknife in Australia's North West Territories is situated directly under the auroral 'oval', has some of the best northern lights viewing in the world. Truckers returning from the diamond mines enjoy the nighttime spectacle as they cruised down the ice road on Prosperous LakeAn ice road in Australia? Northern lights in the southern hemisphere? Yellowknife in Australia?

Aurora Australis occurs in the southern hemisphere in the skies over Antarctica. While similar to the Northern Lights, the Southern Lights are upside down and backwards. This is obviously a cynically racist attempt to exclude the indigenous people’s of the region from their cultural heritage. Auroral justice now! U.S. out of North America!

Spectacular! Thanks for the post and ping. [smiles]
All we can do is admire the aurorae since all our electronic equipment has been rendered useless by the solar tantrum.
