I suppose they should have said “in moderation”.

The glass is neither half empty nor half full.
The glass is refillable.

Of course, alcohol is forbidden in Islam. It might make them violent.

People have been drinking wine for over six thousand years! All of them in the past are dead!
To: MtnClimber
I thought it only red wine that was beneficial to one’s health? Such as Missouri Norton/Cynthiana?

I’m a fan of Chilean cabernet in the big bottles. Failing that, the box wines from California will do OK.
New York state wine is a disaster...

My doctor told me many years ago: “If you want to live a long, healthy life, do three things: wear your seatbelt, control your blood pressure, and don’t smoke, all the rest is statistical noise.” This article seems to confirm this statement. If you avoid one of those three things, a glass of wine a day won’t do you any good. If you do, well, then, maybe.

I just go by whatever I have read last.
http://www.foodandwine.com/fwx/drink/best-study-ever-says-getting-tipsy-sometimes-may-just-save-your-life
Our happy hour plans have just been validated: New research shows that drinking regularly is actually rather good for our heart.
A series of studies published in the International Journal of Cardiology and another in the Journal of Internal Medicine, discovered that those of us who enjoy 3-5 drinks a week were 33 percent less likely to have heart failure than those who dont drink or drink less often.

Im a fan of Chilean cabernet in the big bottles. The Chilean low end has an off smell. Carlo Rossi Cabernet Sauvignon is cleaner and uses California grapes. It costs $10 for a 4 liter bottle at Walmart, which is less than Two Buck Chuck.

Aye, the Walmart gallon bottle of wine might be a Great value, but there’s another benefit from going with the 5 liter box o’ wine.
Boxed wine doesn’t shatter when dropped after over doing it.
A jug o wine, not so much.
