I did just now. I was down at the barn. South, maybe 30 degrees. Pretty bright, but did it pop and then go brighter or was that just the tree in the way?

I’m afraid what you witnessed was not a meteor, but a gas explosion- It seems Michael moore ate too much chili and stood too close to the BB’Q while making his pre midnight shoulder of lamb snack

And that’s how it was for the next ten nights. A flare, spurting out from Mars - bright green, drawing a green mist behind it - a beautiful, but somehow disturbing sight.
Ogilvy, the astronomer, assured me we were in no danger. He was convinced there could be no living thing, on that remote, forbidding planet.

I once saw a very YUGE or very close meteor pass through the atmosphere. I’m guessing it was YUGE and far away as it passed by VERY slowly.
It was a YUGE fireball moving south to north. A single object, not trailing other debris. We (3 of us) were heading due West on I 90 in NY heading toward Rochester. It was very early AM, still pitch dark out. It was visible for several minutes. It was low on the horizon. At first we thought it might be an airplane, but it didn’t lose altitude.
It was an AMAZING sight. SPECTACULAR! It must have been seen by hundreds of people on I90. We could find nothing on the news about it.
