Swordmaker's alternative hypothesis to explain the missing water:

Alternative possibility: somebody pulled that gigantic rubber plug at the bottom of the Mindanao Deep and all that excess water from melting glaciers is draining into the hollow earth. . . right?

Well, it's as good a hypothesis as the sea bed is sinking, don't you think?

To prove it, all we've got to do is find that humongous ball chain connected to that plug. We could apply for a grant and give ourselves really nice incomes while we search. I think there are some good cruise ships we could use as research platforms. I think a time frame of about 20 years for our investigation sounds about right, don't you?

.
Sea levels ceased rising in the early ‘80s.

That is why NOAA switched their datum to satelites instead of land based Benchmarks, allowing them to manipulate the data.

Missing from the explanations is the "expando earth" explanation. The continuous accretion of particles from the sun and other sources that impact and remain results in a growing total mass. That mass requires increased surface area. Some of that is occurring via spreading in the mid-Atlantic. The net result is a larger planet and a sea level that isn't going anywhere. Sucks when the physical world refuses to play along with the fear mongering leftist agenda.

PLEASE, no one tell the scientists where the water is really going (escaping in to space), they will have another man caused global warming meltdown

the more CO2 that is in the atmosphere, the slower it leaks out

the socialist useful idiot scientists wont realize it until its too late and the wars over water have already begun

If the sea bed is sinking and the land is not rising,
we are in big trouble.

Maybe our deep wells are sucking up all the oil and the sea bottoms are sinking as a result!
WE ALL GONNA DIE!

The ocean floor is elastic. Therefore if global warming is reversed the ocean floor will rebound and we’ll all drown?

Unbelievable.

Global Warming causes frozen cyclones.

Global Warming causes oceans to sink and that's why the sea levels do not rise like it was predicted.

They need more money for research.

One of many problems with that theory - the ocean would first have to rise to put extra weight on the bottom. As I u understand it, ocean levels haven’t changed much, maybe a fraction of an inch? That small amount of extra weight is insignificant compared to the weight of a column of water thousands of feet high. How stupid do these guys think we are?
