Pretty sure he isn’t running for prez but he’d make a good one if he did. I’d vote for him for sure.

The thing is, are these kits sold online any good? Are they even accurate? Now, perhaps she had a friend in the FBI who ran a real test for her, but otherwise, I don’t trust their results. I have a friend who is begging me to get my DNA checked, but since the results go into a database, why do I want that knowledge, accurate or not, on some database?

Pamunkey Indian Tribe is not Cherokee, so no, the title’s assertion is false, but yeah ... from that time frame.

She didn’t casually claim it during political campaign trip. She mad claim on formal papers like application and others. I do believe she committed fraud

So what tribe is she claiming to be a part of, and will they accept her claims?

I suspect that this DNA test and her claims are as credible as Ford’s polygraph and equally BS claims.

Just about all the first families of Virginia were descendants of Pocahontas. That includes Robert E. Lee.

The idea of calling oneself an Indian, when your degree of blood is practically nonexistent, is akin to Rachel Donezel calling herself black. The only way the Cherokee nation would consider her a Cherokee, is if she has a descendant on the Dawes Rolls. A DNA test will go NOWHERE in determining tribal affiliation, and in fact, a DNA test will not define one as a member of a particular tribe. And the Cherokee are the only tribe I know of, who will accept any level of blood degree, no matter how small, but without that Dawes roll, she cannot call herself a Cherokee, and with the miniscule amount her DNA test reads, no other tribe will claim her, either, unless one of them wants to adopt her for political reasons.

Yes, Fox is Faux is so true. I was just on their website and they still say “strong evidence” that Warren is Indian even though the percent has been corrected to say 1 in 1,024th or about 0.0999902344 %. None as it is well within the margin of error.

Pocahontas was Powhatan. Warren ain’t any closer to that tribe than she is to the Cherokee. The DNA database used against her sample came from Mexico, Central and South America. She would be closer to the Inca, Aztec, or Mayans

I’m a descendant of Pocahontas, from the Pamunkey tribe (very small sub-group of Powhatan tribes). My grandmother was born on the reservation in Virginia and lived there as a child.
My DNA results came back very confused (Ancestry.com, probably not all that reliable). I think perhaps because there are not enough baseline data points for such a small group of people, as there are only about 30 full-blooded Pamunkey left on the reservation, and I doubt many had testing done. Results said I could be all sorts of ???? heritages — Iberian, Greek, non-Jewish middle Eastern, African (7%, which could very well be correct) as well as Native American.
I believe that my tribe allows you to claim membership as long as you have at least 25% blood and can show family ties. I have never claimed membership, because some of the family history is murky and unprovable.
Warren claims to be Cherokee, correct? I would think there would be plenty of data-points for that tribe. The ridiculously minuscule percentage she is claiming as “proof” is honestly, an insult in my mind.
