The Obama recession resulted in my losing my job and having to use my 401K to keep my house. I am back to being employed now, but at 54 years old, I have less than 10K in retirement.

I am a man, and I like watching soaps. I have been watching Y&R since my mom and I have watched it.
Yes, Y&R has a LGBTQ couple, Mariah and Tessa.
But the star of the show is Victor Newman (played by Eric Breaden).
They don’t care.
They have taken the mark.
Not crazy, but many of those in decision-making positions in the company are probably gay themselves.
They don't think outside their own little boxes when it comes to marketing their products.
They see it as promoting their "brand" but don't seem to realize that it can't survive on just gay customers.
The larger percent of the population are not with them on this gay marketing approach.

Victor is the heart of the show.
It’s the same thing The Bold and the Beautiful did a couple of years ago......they had a transvestite character Mya who was actually a man...Myron.
Susan Flannery (Stephanie Forrester) was the heart of the show. She retired, but I think she still directs some of the show.
PC is destroying all of the soap operas....you wonder why most Americans are tuning into Spanish telenovelas on Univision, Gslavision, and Telemundo....because they don’t show the PC/LGBT stuff.
But it is a changing industry...and a changing America.
Walgreens isn’t too far behind them. I quit them when they announced that they would allow adult male perverts into the bathroom with my granddaughters. I had to go there to pick up something for my wife awhile back and some variety of flamboyant perv was at the cash register with several colors of painted nails, pink hair, and glittery eye makeup. I went back to pharmacy to pay. The lady there had seen my about face. I asked her how much business the freak had cost them. I didn’t get an answere, but her expression told me all I needed to know.
Victor has been absent so much lately that I'm wondering if he's feeling what I feel and fixing to depart.
I wish what's-her-name would go to the Middle East for that job and take all the 'new comers' of the past few years with her. That would fix it.

He is the star of the show, since Jeanne Cooper died years ago, he is the one who gives them ratings! Nikki, Jack, and the others don’t have the star power.
Summer, I think, is the one who is in the Middle East.

I haven’t seen a soap opera in 20+years! Youmake me want to watch one just to see the changes. I grew up watching all my children. Alone because my feminist mom was at work, lol.
McCain’s family was extremely low class during that drawn out anti-Trump infomercial type of a funeral.
Most of their stuff is total crap at this point. I do still buy my work shirts, Staffords from them and that is it. The rest looks like a hippie festival hit town.
I think their new PC show is done for- Victor or no Victor. (Don't get me wrong, I like him) Idiots.
They used to have great shoes as well at one time. Stafford Exec’s were made by Johnston and Murphy. Not any more.
