In some eateries, it’s possible to move the tables in booths back and forth, and/or to put a chair at the end of a booth table. Some people get tubby far more easily than other people do, it ain’t fair but it’s life on earth, and some consideration all around helps the world go around better.

Some people get tubby far more easily than other people do,

That's definitely true. Similarly, I have have never had to do anything to stay at a normal weight. Does that in itself mean that a person who is very large has less willpower than me. No.

Plus most of the advice that is given about how to lose weight and keep it off is wrong.

It took 9 posts before someone showed some compassion. Thank you,
HiTech RedNeck.

Evidence is now clear. Obesity is a chronic hunger disorder that is almost impossible for most obese people to control. It is likely tied to the microbiome in the gut and fructose metabolism.

I am normal weight and have been for more than 10 years...but....keeping it normal requires minute by minute ( almost superhuman) conscious control. It is exhausting.

I am hopeful that effective treatment will soon be forthcoming.

The following are two talks. Sadly, those Freepers who are the cruelest in their comments towards the obese are the least likely to watch and listen.

This from the UCLA medical school on fructose metabolism: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBnniua6-oM

This is a TED talk about gut bacteria:
