As ongoing and growing measles outbreaks flare up around America some New York City anti-vaxxers are suing to block last-minute emergency measures city leaders are taking to slow the spread of infectious disease.
The anti-vaxxers are relying on the repetition of known bad science to carry the day.

Anti-vaxxers only endanger themselves. I am vaccinated, so are my kids. I’ve weighed the risk of vaccines vs. the very real historical threat of dying of communicable disease.
If some fool makes the opposite bet, that’s his problem, not mine.
Why are the people who got vaccinated therefore are immune so upset?
Spoke to a friend in Rockland County, NY this morning. Evidently there is an internecine battle going on over this within the Jewish community there.
Stupid headline. Un-vaccinated children are the only ones more in danger of being infected by what they are not vaccinated against.

That’s not really true. Epidemics are kind of like nuclear reactions; they need to reach a critical mass before they can sustain themselves. Certain people with compromised immune systems cannot be vaccinated. When everyone else gets the vaccine, an epidemic is prevented and the lower risk of exposure protects those who cannot.

The vaccines do not last forever and are not 100% effective.

Well, this is their mistake. The claim should simply be that being vaccinated does NOT PRECLUDE YOU FROM SPREADING THE DISEASE.
That simple fact alone puts the lie to the propaganda that not being vaccinated is a "public threat". A vaccination does not create some kind of magic force field around the recipient that prevents them from inhaling, ingesting or otherwise carrying the virus on their person.
If anyone would care to argue otherwise, have at it.

I tell all my pro-vaccine friends they are leaving money on the table if they are not getting gift cards by getting multiple flu shots ever week from their local chain drug store. as many have free flu shots and some even give away a gift card WITH the free flu shot..
If flu shots are great and harmless.... the pro-vaxxers are FOOLS!
And what is the occurrence of severe events?

If they’ve already had the disease, I believe they are immune. But what if they haven’t?
When I was young there was no MMR vaccine. We just caught it and it ran its course. Both my parents had had it previously so there were no such worries.

As one who would like to pimp-slap Jenny McCarthy into next YEAR, I am still sticking up for these plaintiffs. This is not requiring vaccines to enter a school, university or job. This is requiring vaccines just because you exist in a certain part of the country. You could be sitting in your own private apartment in NYC all day every day, ordering everything from Amazon and Grub Hub, and you still are forced to get the shot.
We have spent years trying to tank Obozocare for the same reason. Mentally SMH.
