NXIVM Update.

You don't say...

The trial resumed this morning in Brooklyn, with former NXIVM member Mark Vicente still on the stand. Vicente confirmed in his testimony what Frank Parlato had asserted weeks ago. This is old news to regular readers, but the fact that it came out confirmed in testimony is notable (h/t defconw). Clare Bronfman and NXIVM made illegal donations to hillary's 2008 Presidential campaign. Why? Because they thought they could 'curry favor' with politicians by doing so. I wonder where High-School-Dropout-Clare got the idea that people could buy politicians? And especially cankles? I sure hope prosecutors somewhere are interested in illegal donations, tax evasion, money laundering and other stuff that Clare was in the middle of.

As would be expected...

The NY Times came out with another article this morning. I think that makes two since the trial started. In this one, they are providing lots of top-cover for Allison Mack. They paint her as an innocent young women, searching for the meaning of life. She's described as "bubbly...bright...beloved...charming" ad nauseum. And that's only up to the letter "c". Check the article for the rest of the pablum. Basically she was entranced, entrapped, enthralled, by evil Keith Raniere. Glossed over is her role in the nauseating branding 'ceremonies' where she would help hold down naked women as Dr. Danielle Roberts burned their flesh with a cauterizer pen for almost an hour (with no anasthetic).

Few Live Updates...

There are very few live updates on the trial. Although no electronic devices are allowed in the courtroom, some outlets last week were tweeting updates on court breaks. One of which is WTEN News10 reporter Ayla Ferrone. She's not in the courtroom, but she is tweeting from transcripts from Mark Vicente's testimony from Thursday (h/t bitt).

Four Part Background...

Frank Parlato has written up a four-part history of Mark Vicente, the filmaker and former NXIVM member who was called as the prosecution's second witness late Wednesday afternoon. He testified all day Thursday, and is back on the stand this morning (no court on Friday).

Rumblings...

There are rumblings from North of the Border Patriots that Trudeau is going to be revealed as an involved player in this trauma drama. Nothing confirmed, but the Bronfman family has long been a playmaker in Canadian politics. Don't forget, there's also a straight line from the Bronfmans to Cindy No-Name's daddy going back to Prohibition and her criminal family heritage that links up to no-name through Cindy and her family. Arizona mafia, indeed.

Ask me to be added or dropped.

Thank you for updates. I certainly hope that a lot of big names get caught in this net.

Jeffrey Epstein case in US District Court. If the non-prosecution agreement gets voided, Jeffrey goes back to court on the original charges.

Background - The original prosecutors worked out a deal with Epstein that pretty much let him off the hook. The deal violated Florida laws that require victims be notified in advance of potential deals with sex offenders. Judge Kenneth Marra will decide whether to toss the agreement and re-try Epstein, or rule the agreement is valid. Marra is a Bush 43 appointee.

**********From the Article**************

Federal prosecutors said Friday they want to meet with once-underage victims of wealthy financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein before deciding whether to throw out a decade-old non-prosecution agreement that allowed him to avoid potentially severe penalties.
