Why didn’t he actually shoot her, if he had that much ammunition?

Zero. You cannot miss enough times to end a threat.
Ketamine is a tranquilizer.
Look up K-hole. Take too much, nite nite.
Well, one is real and one isn’t.
While I’m not going to judge anyone, and even say that I know what I would do, in my Monday morning quarter back role, I think warning shots are always a bad idea.
Having a gun coming into position so that it is clear that business is meant is warning enough. Unless there is a pile of distance between the assailant and the gun, the gun can change hands all too quickly.

Apparently his weapons are for something other than self defense.
So... who's blood?
Maybe one or tow warning shots, then SHOOT TO KILL.
Just read up on the Black-Eyed Children phenomenon. It is completely Satanic and these ‘people’ are not human. Which explains her strength. Chalk it up to drugs if you want.
That’s nothing more than a strawman with this situation.
This stuff is happening more often than most people think.
Presumably the woman. He says he punched the intruder as hard as he could.
She might just be the devil if she survived 39 bullets.
Melissa Lewis’s husband is lucky he has a wife and son willing to do what has to be done (i.e., beat the devil into ICU). When a drug-crazed maniac is in your home, intent on killing your family, firing 39 warning shots is not the required action. I wonder if the Blue Braid Devil was typical of the residents, or if the seller forgot to disclose satanic drug cult activity when asked why they were selling. Neighborhood gatherings are going to be mighty interesting.
I wish I were the local home remodeler. 39 .357s are going to have holes everywhere.
Ah, a Babylon 5 fan.
The sci-fi epic show.
Maybe he was using one of these.
