A Florida mom was arrested Thursday after her underage daughter was recorded licking a tongue depressor and placing it back with unused depressors at a Jacksonville doctor's office.
Cori E. Ward, 30, was arrested on a felony charge of tampering with a consumer product without regard for possible death or bodily injury, according to jail records from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. Ward is not eligible for bond and is due in court on Friday.
Ward posted a video on social media Tuesday showing her daughter placing the licked tongue depressor back into the other tongue depressors at the All About Kids and Families Medical Center, according to NBC affiliate WTLV.
The mother defended herself on Facebook before apparently deleting her account, and implied that the materials her kids were handling while waiting for medical appointments were all either cleaned or discarded, WTLV reported.
"The video doesn't show that the items were thrown away or anything else that happened," Ward wrote. "I posted this on my personal Snapchat with my 20-something friends, where someone allowed another person to video it. I didn't post it on Facebook or YouTube as a challenge or whatever."

How do you allow your ill-mannered daughter (thanks to YOU) to expose hundreds of other kids to her pathogens, and instead of taking the stick away from her and punishing her for what she did, she FILMS it? Woman should be tossed in jail and her daughter placed in some other peoples’ home, people who are more responsible and mature, fit to raise a child. This stupid slag clearly is not.

It seems more and more people are videoing themselves committing crimes and then posting the videos online. Is it that they don’t know the things they are doing are crimes? Or, are they just incredibly stupid? Then, there are the people trying to set up a flash mob at Area 51, where the guards have shot and killed trespassers. Would joining such a mob not be the height of stupidity? And, yes, the guards would shoot until they ran out of targets because, that’s their job!

Possible death may be a bit of a reach for the prosecutor.
However mom needs to go to prison and the child needs to go to new family.
I’m guessing these are people who don’t think they will ever get caught, or if so, they won’t get punished.
There are not a lot of examples these days of somebody rightfully getting ‘the book thrown at them’ for knowingly committing a crime. Look at Jussie Smollet, and other out&proud Liars.
Ah, I see. She is being charged for assisting her daughter in the crime not just for failing to supervise her.
How could a medical center leave tongue depressors lying around like that?
When this lady gets hit with a felony (!) charge over the younger depressor indecent —— and soroznazi continues to walk free. —- American citizens can conclude nothing other than our justice system is totally broken - and corrupt.
That would separate the child from the parent. Throw them all in jail.

I have seen plenty of doctor offices where tongue depressors are kept in a glass jar with a lid that lifts up so that anyone can get a tongue depressor out. It looks like that practice may have to stop, and doctors will have to use individually wrapped tongue depressors. Or keep all supplies in locked cabinets, not on the counter. Apparently, patients cannot be trusted.
Did her friends think it was funny? There are too many mentally deranged adults in the world. They are resentful, entitled brats who only think about themselves. It’s sad.

Well, ok, but unless they can prove the daughter had some dread disease (or even just a strep throat) they may have a hard time making this charge stick.
