I would only ever own a dirtbike and ride off road. People are F’n idiots with texting and drinking.
Which will kill you younger:
Riding a motorcycle or being Keith Richards?
One is 34x as likely to die/per mile driven,
than in a passenger car
Oh yes, Im a biker, but the truth is what it is
It doesn’t matter who causes the accident, the bike always loses.
Can we get a big AMEN on that, brothers and sisters ? !
As a former motorcyclist, I agree. I got rid of mine 25 years ago and haven’t regretted it a bit.
I sold my Harley this year. I figured it just wasn’t worth it any more. You have to have your head on a swivel and even then there is no protection from idiots. And one bike accident and I wouldn’t be playing golf for a long long time.
...The bike always loses
Yup, the edge of the envelope has razor blades
This must be some sort of trick question. I realized my time on my motorcycle was growing short in my 20's, after a couple of close calls. Keith Richards is as old as the Grand Canyon.
You can spot the drunks, you have no clue what the idiots who are texting are going to do next
We had a serious single-vehicle motorcycle crash in my neck of the woods a few years ago. The guy lost control of his bike after he hit a wild turkey. Seriously. When youre on the losing end of an encounter like that, its time to give some thought to giving up the idea of riding a motorcycle.
That’s the thing, you have to drive for everybody else all the time. I just got to a point that it didn’t seem worth it anymore.
... The guy lost control of his bike after he hit a wild turkey.
I hit a deer once, at 50mph
That’s a fast deer.
Then there's one who got mad at me when he slammed on his brakes merging onto I-20 during rush hour. I was trying to enter the on-ramp to I-635 and I got closer to him than he thought I should.
All he had to do was accelerate to an open spot, instead of braking. That's one advantage motorcycles have, quick acceleration.
