Weird Noise Just North of DFW Airport

There is a really weird sound that has been going on for about 30 minutes. It sounds like harmonics in the atmosphere - there are three notes. It’s completely separate from the jets coming from the airport. Can anyone else hear it? I heard it Thursday evening, also. What is it?

Do they do that? I know smoke detectors are supposed to beep intermittently if their batteries are failing

I know they make noise with feedback. We had a kid on our school bus who had hearing aides. Every once in a while we would talk low. And he would crank it up. Then we would talk loud. It would scream in his ears.

We were bad kids. But that was 45 years ago.

It was definitely real. It’s hard enough to type short answers, much less a whole thread on this iPad. I certainly wouldn’t have done it if I didn’t want a scientific answer. I would save myself the frustration.

I’d read somewhere that those videos were faked and the soundl was lifted from some video game.

I’ve heard those once. I am miles from any train crossing and they aren’t supposed to use the horn in ‘that area’ (residential) anyhow.

I have to have my windows open to hear such things. Too cold now.

I finally had time to listen to your post. The sound was similar, but different. The 3 tones were in succession, one after the other, about 2 seconds each, over and over for about 45 minutes.
